When God Guides Our Path

Share

Light in forest path

The other day I was talking with Ginger, a close friend of mine, who had come by the office to show me how to set up a WishList on Amazon for our Fostering By Faith Boutique. As she was showing me the details, God’s Spirit was guiding us both to have her come on board to help with the Boutique.

Let me explain.

During the conversation, Ginger, following the guidance of the Holy Spirit, [HE knows of my strong aversion to technology and internet shopping] volunteered to use her Amazon account for the WishList. Then, the Holy Spirit prompted me to ask her if she would join our Fostering By Faith team. She laughed, and said she’d been thinking about it even before our meeting but—wasn’t sure about asking me. So when I asked, it was confirmation to both of us: God was at work! What joy!!! We both rejoiced at how God met needs in His usual multidimensional way! The foster kids need stuff; people need an easy tool to help; I don’t like to shop; Ginger loves children and—wanted to help; and—well…

…God brought it all together!

You see, when we place our life 100% in the hands of God, then we are in a position to be LISTENING for His prompting. I wanted to share this story with you all because so many of you ask me: “How do you hear God?” Well, my friend, it all has to do with surrendering to Him. When my morning prayer is “God, today I give you 100% of my life, my law practice, my stuff, my time and my heart,” then I get to be part of HIS plan. Sure, it’s a struggle to stay tuned in because the air is alive with interference. Our enemies, the devil, the flesh and the world—are always trying to thwart God’s marvelous plan for our life. Each day, and each hour of the day, we must determine to stay focused and surrendered to God.

It helps me to remember that I WILL be surrendered to somebody or something today—and GOD is the BEST Master I’ve ever served!

We must choose which master we will serve. We can’t have both! Jesus said:

“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon [man]. Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:24, 31-33‬ ‭‬‬

I guarantee you, when we seek God’s kingdom first, He always makes good on His promise to take care of us! I’ve never seen Him fail me yet. When I pray first thing in the morning and give Him 100% of everything I have; I SEE Him guide my day in ways I could never imagine. It’s so incredibly special and miraculous!

Life with God is full of outstanding adventures!

Basic Bible Concepts: Part 9 Spiritual Growth

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you, when they revile and persecute you and say, all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake, rejoice and be exceeding. Glad for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” ~Matthew 5:10-12
