Science That Proves The Existence Of God

I know many people who, like myself, have personal stories to firmly support the existence of God. He works in so many areas of my life, that to deny His existence would be like failing to acknowledge the oxygen I breathe. Yet, much of the scientific community consistently claims that the existence of God contradicts the laws of science; and that Christians have “blind faith.”

I have been reading Dr. Pat Briney’s book, “500 Bible Questions Answered,” and his observations about science proving God’s existence as it relates to just a couple scientific laws is so simple, and yet so profound it was worth sharing! The more we explore the laws of science and see how they confirm the existence of God, the greater our motivation to praise God! Dr. Briney wrote:

The first law of thermodynamics states that energy cannot be CREATED by natural means. This is a law because it has been demonstrated to be true 100% of the time. But everything that exists is made of energy in different forms. If the universe did not and cannot create itself, then from where did it come? The reasonable conclusion about the origin of energy in the universe, in light of a scientific law, is that it must have been created supernaturally. To say there is no God is to contradict a scientific law. Honest people are forced by scientific observations and objectivity to conclude that there is a God.

The second law of thermodynamics states that usable energy cannot be INCREASED in a closed system. Observation of our universe shows that usable energy is decreasing like a clock winding down. However, the universe, like a clock, cannot wind down unless it had original, usable energy. Where did the original, usable energy come from? The second law of thermodynamics says that the universe cannot wind itself up naturally. So then, the reasonable conclusion about the origin of this usable energy is that it began supernaturally. There is a God.

How do we know the supernatural force of creation is “God”? The physical laws of creation lead to one conclusion: there must have been a supernatural origin. But is this God? Consider the following:

• The design in the physical world indicates an intelligent designer.

• Intelligence indicates personality.

• The fine tuning of the universe to make life possible indicates purpose and compassionate preparation.

• The physical world shows extreme complexity.

• The physical world shows creativity.

• The physical world shows astronomical size and power.

• A supernatural entity having intelligence, personality, purpose, compassion, complexity, creativity, and astronomical size and power is God.

Isn’t this fantastic???? The Bible confirms the logical conclusions drawn from the laws of thermodynamics:

“For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.” ‭‭

Colossians‬ ‭1‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‬‬

Doesn’t it take much LESS faith to believe that this infinitely complex universe was created by a Master designer than to believe it all just happened by chance? Science has never recorded even one cell being created from nothing. Especially not something as complex as life! Faith in God reveals the truth about creation—even to those who do not have a complex knowledge of science:

“By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”

Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭3‬ ‬‬

Our acknowledgement of God’s existence is critical. It is the difference between living a wise life and a foolish life. It is the proof that we love our own soul. When we know God, we desire to acknowledge Him in every aspect of our life!

“You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.”

Revelation‬ ‭4‬:‭11‬ ‭‬‬
