Read these two passages and think about what “I AM” means to YOU::
God said to Moses, “I AM THAT I AM. Thus shall you say to the children of Israel, I AM has sent me to you.”
(Exodus 3:14)
Jesus said, “before Abraham was, I AM.”
(John 8:58)
Based on who God says He is in these passages, do you believe a relationship with Him is THE most important relationship you can have? Are you IRRESISTIBLY drawn to GOD? If not, why not? You see, without experiencing a relationship with God through the GIFT OF SALVATION, these verses are relatively meaningless. Without experiencing a relationship with God, the only tools we have to understand God are our own intellect and our experiences. Thus, we’re left to fabricate God’s image based on our tangential experience instead of the greatness God ascribes to Himself—in His Word.
With this peripheral view of God, we blame Him, run from Him, hate Him, are afraid of Him and, thus, we reject the most vital relationship we need.
Take a minute to read God’s own Word—about Himself:
“God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:19
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
Jeremiah 29:11
“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
Romans 8:28
Do YOU see God as one who:
supplies all your needs;
desires to give you a future full of hope;
desires to strengthen you, help you, uphold you;
works all things for good for you; AND…
thought you were worth dying for???
Indeed, ask yourself, do you know God as the embodiment of REAL LOVE? (1 John 4:8) God passionately desires to know YOU. He is roaming over the entire earth to find those who have a desire for Him:
“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.”
II Chronicles 16:9
“Before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.”
Isaiah 65:24
God knows—your need—to know HIM. Do you???
He longs to give you a relationship of love that is more powerful and meaningful than you can conceive. Seek Him—He will be found!
“Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord…”
Jeremiah 29:12-13
“Behold, today is the day of salvation.”
II Corinthians 6:2
After our soul and spirit are born again, we are equipped to begin our journey to discover God. He WILL reveal Himself. God can’t be compared to anything we’ve experienced or anyone we know. The “I AM” is the eternal self-existing one. And when we grasp that we need to KNOW God in order to begin to UNDERSTAND Him—we become free to truly DISCOVER Him.
A deep relationship with God allows Him to define who WE are and our life becomes a testament of who HE is.
A deep relationship with the “I AM” breaks the barriers of our human imagination about God.
