How To Live In Supernatural Faith

Yesterday we spoke about the evidence of supernatural faith. Today we are going to discuss how to allow it to guide your life. Speaking from experience, there is no experience like it!

To live in supernatural faith, our life must be dominated by the supernatural presence of God.

Paul the Apostle wrote:

“And I…did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching were NOT with persuasive words of HUMAN wisdom, but in DEMONSTRATION of the Spirit and of power, that your FAITH should NOT be in the wisdom of men but in the POWER of GOD.” ‬‬

1 Corinthians‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬-‭5

So, how does our faith shift from the “wisdom of men” to the “power of God?” Or, how do we switch from living primarily by earthly faith to living primarily by supernatural faith? We must remember that the wisdom and power of God—comes from God, who is Holy. The very next verse says:

“However, we speak wisdom among those who are MATURE, yet NOT the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.”

1 Corinthians‬ ‭2‬:‭6‬ ‬‬

“Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from ABOVE is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.‬”

James‬ ‭3‬:‭13‬-‭18

Paul makes it clear that living in the power of God has NOTHING to do with the wisdom or power of the world. We don’t need a pile of money, a bag of tricks, an entertaining personality, the gift of eloquence, etc., in order to live in the power of supernatural faith! The next verses hold the key:

But as it is written: “Eye has NOT seen, NOR ear heard, NOR have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who LOVE Him.”

But God has REVEALED them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, NOT the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might KNOW the things that have been freely given to us by God. ‬

1 Corinthians‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬-‭12

The first and greatest commandment in both the New Testament and the Old Testament is to LOVE God with ALL your heart, soul, and mind. God MUST be the center of our life. The proof is when…

  • He is the reason we DO what we DO.
  • He is what we TALK about most.
  • He is what we THINK about most.
  • He is on the THRONE of heart; our greatest desire.

God is the center when all other things—job, family, success, worry—are subjugated to Him. We desire His Word. We desire communion with His people. We desire to be an active part of His church. We desire to pray. We desire to bring others into God’s kingdom. We desire to disciple.

Why do we come to desire these things more than any other relationship or possession? Because supernatural faith enables us to understand the most important reality in life:

We were created for God’s glory and for an eternal relationship with Him!!!

When this amazing truth becomes the core of our existence, we can’t help but live by supernatural faith. The end result of this supernatural faith is the salvation of our soul and spirit. In this life—it is refined by our trials and enables us to shine for the glory of God despite ANY circumstances!

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.

1 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭6‬-‭9‬

The genuineness of our faith is proven through our trials. It is real, it is refined for God’s glory; if it is not—it burns up. What a remarkable experience supernatural faith gives us! Each earthly circumstance is an opportunity for supernatural faith to take flight!

God created us for accomplishments that are greater than we could ever ask or imagine!

Today you can begin to live in the miracles of supernatural faith! Make God the center. Surrender to Him in every area of your life and give Him the reins. You will be amazed at how well He does your life. I certainly am!
