More often than not, when my day doesn’t work out according to my plans, my reaction is frustration and disappointment. However, God is teaching me…
I’m much less frustrated and disappointed when I allow HIM to make my plans!
Say what???
You see, I often live like God does not know enough about my life to make plans regarding—my job, my family, my happiness, or my responsibilities??? Wow—do I really think so poorly of God? Or, conversely, Do I really regard myself so highly? Well, if my plans are making me disappointed or frustrated—I need to consider that— either may be true. BUT—when God plans my day, I’m never disappointed because HIS plans are never thwarted.
He is God.
When I live with the realized knowledge that God is much wiser than I am, I free myself to enjoy the adventure of the unknown or the unpredictable. I like to take these two thoughts from God’s Word in tandem:
God’s plans are not my plans and His ways are not my ways (Isaiah 55:8)
Humility opens my heart to His Divine wisdom (Proverbs 11:2)
When I make my plans around GOD, instead of expecting Him to work through MY plans; then—the result is the success of living in His will. God does not NEED my clever wit, human wisdom, new technology, or my money to touch people and change their lives. In fact, sometimes those things just get in the way!
Success is built on knowing God better than I know anything or anyone else.
We were created for a relationship with God. In His presence, we are in sync with His powerful Spirit. It is my experience that when I’m focused on Him, He takes care of the small stuff—the bills, the job and all my self-proclaimed big responsibilities. This frees my soul. I have great peace to embark on the great adventure of TODAY with all the strength of a mighty warrior, the wisdom of the ages, the passion of a lover, and the delight of a child.

“Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!”
Psalms 139:16-17
