The wisdom of God’s Word never ceases to amaze me! God has answers for every problem on earth. He has a solution to every problem you will face today. The world may be in chaos, but it’s an immense comfort to know that God offers EACH of us HIS life-giving wisdom.
What qualifies us, as born again believers to possess the wisdom of God?
God’s Word tells us exactly how to have His wisdom:
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For by me your days will be multiplied, and years of life will be added to you.”
Proverbs 9:10-11
So what does it mean to “fear” God? Well it means He is our center and the most important part of our life. This begins when we give our life to Him and accept His free gift of salvation. Then, each day, we intentionally place ourselves in His presence. In my experience, when God is more important than ANYTHING in my life—my life is exponentially MORE worth living!
What does this look like?
Well, when God is our most important reason for living, our life’s greatest passion is not focused on goals unworthy of our precious life. Then, when we read about the latest TikTok millionaire or overnight sensation, we aren’t distracted by a yearning to be that person. God’s wisdom teaches us the priceless value of HIS presence and we see the world’s treasures [without God’s presence] for what they are—just another way for the enemy to slowly starve our soul.
God’s greatest treasures cannot be bought or earned. They are a gift from Him. When we recognize that He offers us the treasury of His presence, we desire to humble our heart to His ways. Our reward is the gift of an amazing life directed by His Divine and eternal perspective.
The Book of Proverbs says:
“My son, if you receive my words, and treasure my commands within you, so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; yes, if you cry out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding, if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures; THEN you will understand the fear of the Lord, and FIND the knowledge of GOD.
For the LORD gives WISDOM; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright [people who live according to His Word]; He is a SHIELD to those who walk uprightly; He GUARDS the paths of justice, and PRESERVES the way of His saints.
THEN you will understand righteousness and justice, equity and every good path.”
Proverbs 2:1-9
God gives HIS wisdom to the “upright”, that is, those who love HIM more than they love their own way. When we “treasure” God’s presence and His Word, combined they are more precious than our electronic devices, job, money, entertainment, goals or pleasure.
God’s wisdom holds all the answers to life: Seek Him and you will find it!
