Did You Know Each Day Is An Opportunity To Get Rich?

While reading about the seven churches in the book of Revelations, God gave me such a powerful challenge: Each day is an extraordinary opportunity to get rich. Let me assure you, I have absolutely NOT jumped on the “prosperity gospel” train! Nope! Not at all. In fact, it’s just the opposite. The measure of prosperity God offers us—is FAR more extraordinary than the paper stuff I’ve invested in the shaky stock market!

Question: Why don’t Christians live like they’re rich?

Well, it has to do with what we hold dearest to our heart. If our zeal comes from the things of this earth; we are living like everyone else—like we never have enough. That’s living like you’re poor, right? In fact, our obsession with the things of this world and lackluster attitude toward the things of God—REPELS God and makes Him want to VOMIT. No. Really. Just read the words of Jesus recorded by John to the church at Laodicea:

These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.”

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Revelation 3:14-22

We don’t live like we are rich, because we pursue God’s earthly “goods” more than we pursue HIM.

God’s first, and great commandment has always been to love HIM above anything else. When we do, it transforms our life. We begin to collect a treasure trove of the most priceless gems. We are not consumed by the things of this world. We love others more than we love ourselves. We are in love with God’s Word and His ways. Those around us see our ZEAL for HIM, and they see HIM in us. Our life unmistakably belongs to Him because the fruits of HIS Spirit—pour from us.

Indeed, when God is our most priceless treasure, the treasure we have—is one that cannot be bought. In fact, it is FREE because it has already been paid for by the blood of Jesus Christ. This irrevocable treasure is given to us when we accept His gift of salvation. We multiply our treasure as we live in daily surrender and loving obedience to God.

My friend, today is the day to lay up the greatest treasures! If you have never received the gift of salvation, TODAY is the day! If you are already born again, but are not daily surrendering to God—WHAT grubby sin are you holding onto? Is it complacency? Return to Him. Ask Him to restore the fiery passion He gave you when you were first born again. Fuel that passion with prayer, reading God’s Word, and loving obedience!

God is ready to make you rich beyond your imagination with ALL the things money can’t buy!
