Are You Learning From The Best Teacher?

Did you know that we each have an opportunity to learn from the most brilliant teacher in the world? Not only does He know EVERYTHING there is to know, but He also knows the future, AND He has been in the past. He knows what’s in the mind of the most inscrutable person. He knows the solution to every one of our problems.

And—this GREAT Teacher cares about you MORE than you care about yourself.

I tend to think I know enough to handle my own problems. If I don’t know, I look to the resources of others. And while it’s true, we need to learn from each other, for me, it was remarkable to learn that God would personally teach me! The first time I read this passage it was such a revelation because I REALLY had NO IDEA God would be my personal teacher! But here it is in black and white, right in His Word:

I will INSTRUCT you and TEACH you in the way you should go; I will GUIDE you with My eye.

Do not be like the horse or like the mule, Which have no understanding, Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, Else they will not come near you.

Many sorrows shall be to the wicked; but he who trusts in the Lord, mercy shall surround him.

Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous; and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭32‬:‭8‬-‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Our omniscient God has promised to instruct, teach, and guide us!

I would jump at the opportunity to—learn guitar from a master; practice law with the most brilliant attorney in Missouri; write devotionals with an expert author; workout with the best personal trainer; teach the Bible with someone who knows what’s inside the mind of each student…oh, wait…but God is an EXPERT in EVERYTHING and there isn’t anything that is hidden from HIM! So what am I doing with this magnificent opportunity to be taught and led by GOD Almighty?

Am I acting like a stubborn mule that is so devoid of understanding that she refuses to be led by her master to the greenest pastures and the freshest water?

My friend, when I DAILY discipline myself to spend quality time with Jesus in the morning, that is when His Word gives me the wisdom to meet the day. He leads me. And—when I discipline myself to set aside additional time to STUDY His Word—He teaches me wisdom that is far beyond that of the most brilliant human! You see, if we are truly born again, God’s Spirit lives within us and we desire to grow in His presence. We are drawn more and more to become intentional and disciplined in our relationship with Him. We desire to be more obedient to His Word because we see how it brings us closer to our loving Teacher and Guide.

When weve sat at Jesus’ feet and allowed Him to be our great teacher—no other teacher compares!

We long for more of Him. We want to engage with Him. We run to Him. He is the best part of our life because the experience of His presence opens the eyes of our soul. His steadfast love surrounds us. He is our greatest joy. We hunger and thirst every morning to see what marvelous things He will teach us. God’s Word is full of the richest promises for those who desire to know Him:

Paul prayed:

“that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the KNOWLEDGE of HIM, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may KNOW what is the HOPE of His calling, what are the RICHES of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power…

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1‬:‭17‬-‭19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

God is our BEST teacher, so don’t skip His class!
