Who Can You Trust To Give The Best Advice?

As you face each question today, who do you trust to give you the BEST advice? You are likely to ask advice from people who have knowledge about your problem, right? For example, Monday there was an electrical problem in one of our offices, so I called my friend Sam, the electrician. That’s what we do—call someone who knows. But who has the answers to satisfy the greatest longings of our soul? Who will tell us what our purpose is and what gives our life meaning? It’s scary how quickly we will surf social media for this answer and trust people we don’t even know. We see their happy social media life and want whatever they are selling.

I’ve done it plenty of times.

But God, the Creator of all things, the One who lives in the past, present, and future, the ONE Who is omniscient, omnipresent, all-powerful—and created us—has more experience, wisdom, and knowledge about our soul than anyone on the planet.

We can trust Him!!!

Real life stuff affects our soul! For example, when I lost my hair from COVID, it affected me much more than I expected. Handfuls of my hair were falling out every day. I was afraid to wash or brush my hair because I figured messy, dirty hair was better than no hair. I constantly scoured the internet for a way to stop the loss and to stimulate quick re-growth. There were hundreds of differing opinions. There was little consensus. This may seem like a trivial, non-spiritual problem; however, it was painful.

God cares about our pain!

It’s natural to be concerned over your health and beauty because it is a big part of our identity! Finally, I went to God and began to pray about it. You see, I sometimes forget that God even wants to help me with “non-spiritual” things. God gave me such a great answer—much different than I expected! It inspired me to make a video and share it with others who were suffering from COVID-related hair loss.

My friend, God cares about everything in your life. He wants to give us His wisdom for everyday life. He even gives us the recipe:

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For by me [wisdom] your days will be multiplied, and years of life will be added to you.

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭9‬:‭10‬-‭11‬

To “fear” God in the context of seeking answers is—to have a heart to love Him MOST and seek Him FIRST. We honor Him as THE primary source of all knowledge, experience, and wisdom.

We learn we can trust Him because the application of His wisdom is proven—even in our physical problems.

It is the wisdom we can ALWAYS trust. God has been in all the places we will be and everywhere we have not been—we can trust His wisdom. My friend Chris, made the observation that “God is in the forever now.”  He imparts His wisdom to His born again children who passionately pursue a relationship with Him. God’s wisdom is FAR above the wisdom of the world.

Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you SEEMS to be wise in this age, [in other words in the things of this world] let him become a fool [humble himself before God) that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.  For it is written, “He catches the wise in their own craftiness”; and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the [worldly] wise, that they are futile.” ‭‭I ‬‬

Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭18‬-‭20

When we are willing to give our whole heart to Christ; we come to see that He imparts not just His amazing wisdom to us but He also gives us “all things.”

“Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours: whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or things present or things to come—all are yours. And you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.” ‭‭

I Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭21‬-‭23‬ ‭‬‬

God’s wisdom gives us His perspective.

When we have GOD’s perspective, we KNOW that we have ALL things in CHRIST.

We have all the love, resources, wisdom, strength, health, time, etc., we need to live in the glorious purpose for which we were created.

We have more than we need.

We have more than we can use.

We have more than we can give away.

Passionately pursue Christ. Diligently study His Word. Have long conversations with Him, sharing every care of your heart. Draw close to Him through confession and repentance. Worship Him through thanksgiving and praise. God loves you more than you love you. He desires to fill you with all His wisdom and goodness!

Basic Bible Concepts: Part 9 Spiritual Growth

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you, when they revile and persecute you and say, all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake, rejoice and be exceeding. Glad for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” ~Matthew 5:10-12
