God, who created the heavens and the earth and all that is in it—DESIRES you. He treasures you. He is seeking you because He loves you more than anyone in the whole world loves you! Jesus said:
“For the Son of Man came to SEEK and to save the lost.”
Luke 19:10
Amazing, right?
Why do we clap and shout at a concert? Why do we whoop and cheer when Army beats Navy? (Sorry. Navy fans.😬) Why would it be such a great honor to be called up on the stage or down on the field for our moment-of-fame photo op? Isn’t it because we desire to be identified with greatness? We know we were born for it—right? We want to be part of it? But—WHAT can these other humans, with the same problems we have—REALLY do for us? What do they give us besides… making us long for the good life that we think they have?
When the lights fade, we are all alone with ourselves and—WHO really cares about us anyway?
God cares.
No one has the capability of caring for us like God does. No one is GREATER than GOD! He desires to be with us all the time. When we’re with Him, we are Never Alone. He is a Friend who will never leave us or forsake us. Certainly the famous person we admire most is not seeking us like God does. Unlike human icons who could care less about us, God is seeking to have a deep and meaningful relationship with us.
“The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are ANY who understand, who SEEK after God.”
Psalms 14:2
Isn’t it just a little bit amazing that the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe looks to see if we are seeking after Him? What’s even more amazing is when we DO seek Him, we begin to discover all the wonders that make Him marvelous. We uncover His love, wisdom, peace, strength, AND—we also discover who we really are. Our time with God becomes more essential than our morning coffee. In fact, He becomes more precious to us than friends, family, gold, houses, career, or anything else!
When we experience God’s presence He becomes our greatest addiction.
My friend, seek God with all your heart, soul, and mind. Surrender to Him in all areas of your life. When you experience God, you will KNOW what it means to be treasured by the King of Kings.
