Write Your Biography of Miracles

biography miracles

Is there anything written in the story of your life that you can point to and say, “Only God could have done that?” You know, something so far beyond your natural ability that it stands as clear evidence of His power? If not, it is NOT because God is unable. Most often it is because we have not intentionally engaged His power in our lives.

Jesus gave us an astonishing promise: “With God nothing will be impossible.” (Luke 1:37) But that promise is not activated simply by wishing for miracles. It is experienced when we live in close relationship with God and allow HIS power to work through us.

But before we discuss engaging God’s power, there is a foundational truth that must be understood.

Unless a person is born again, it is impossible for them to engage the supernatural power of God. Until we receive Christ as Savior, our spirit and soul are spiritually dead. A person who has not been born again cannot utilize God’s power because God’s Spirit does not live within them.

The power to do what is humanly impossible flows only from a living relationship with Christ.

Paul explained, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17) New life must come first—then the power of God can be brought to bear.

But even for those who are born again, experiencing God’s power requires more than good intentions. It requires developing the

and attitudes of Christ. Scripture instructs us, “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 2:5) As we grow spiritually, God begins to work through us in ways that far exceed our natural abilities. The apostle Paul understood this deeply. While sitting in prison awaiting execution, he wrote, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13) He knew that although his body was confined, his soul was free and empowered by God.

He had a strong awareness that his human circumstances did not limit God’s ability to work through him.

Neither do ours.

Yet there is another truth we must face: ALL sin hinders our ability to experience God’s power. Developing the mind of Christ necessarily means eliminating sin from our lives. Sin is always destructive. Sin gives us the mind of the flesh, and the Bible warns, “For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God.” (Romans 8:6–7) When we cling to sin, it clouds our vision, weakens our judgment, and dulls our spiritual sensitivity. Worse yet—it places us in the enemy camp.

When we’re fighting against God, how do we expect Him to work “great and mighty things” through us?

My friends, God is fully able, but He does not accomplish the impossible through a heart that is actively resisting Him. Our disobedience blocks our ability to hear His voice and follow His leading. James tells us clearly:

“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts.” James 4:8

When we live surrendered to Christ—walking in loving obedience—our perspective begins to change. God gives us more of HIS perspective so obstacles no longer look like walls but like opportunities for God to show His strength. Jesus promised, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9:23) Belief, however, is not merely a mental agreement; it manifests itself as a lifestyle of trust and obedience.

And what do these miracles look like that God accomplishes through us?

The greatest miracles are not primarily physical healings, financial breakthroughs, or dramatically changing circumstances—though God certainly does those things. The greatest miracles are the ones that are eternal. Perhaps the greatest miracle of all is when a human heart surrenders to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior for salvation and passes from eternal death to eternal life. And perhaps the second greatest miracle is when that same redeemed person chooses to use their gift of salvation to obey the Great Commission. (Matthew 28:19–20) Everything else we do becomes a platform for these two eternal miracles. Feeding the poor, helping those who cannot help themselves, encouraging the broken, teaching, writing music, creating art, working with excellence, loving our family, and stewarding our jobs and homes—these are all the channels of ministry through which God extends His influence.

When we live using every gift and opportunity to point people to Jesus, we are allowing God to write the supernatural biography of our lives—one miracle at a time.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You that nothing is impossible with You. I confess that on my own I am powerless, and without being born again I could never experience Your supernatural strength. Thank You for giving me new life in Christ. Forgive me for the times I have allowed sin, fear, or unbelief to hinder Your work in my life. Cleanse my heart and renew my mind so that I can walk in the attitudes of Christ. Help me to live in daily obedience and to trust You for things beyond my own ability. Strengthen my faith so that my life will become a testimony of Your power and grace. I surrender myself completely to You. Do through me what only You can do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
