What do others see when they look into your eyes?
Jesus said,
The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
Matthew 6:22-23 NKJV
What makes your “lamps” or your eyes—shine? Jesus made it clear that EITHER darkness or light can “light” our eyes. Whatever “lights us up” is likely very near and dear to our heart. Is it money that lights our eyes? Is it sexual pleasure? Is it good food or the anticipation of a vacation? There are many good things that light up my eyes—like talking about my granddaughter, little Claire.
But even sweet little Claire is never enough to keep me lit with the kind of light I was meant to shine.
Our lamp was created to shine from a source that never burns out—the precious presence of Jesus! When HE is the greatest desire of our life, HE is the presence that shines out of our eyes. Many of us have heard the quote (often attributed to Shakespeare) “The eyes are the window of the soul,” so ask yourself:
What kind of light do people see when they look in your “window”?
Do your eyes reflect the fruits that are produced by the Spirit of God? Do they see peace, joy, love, wisdom, kindness, satisfaction, confidence, courage, and hope? OR do they convey worry, fear, sadness, hate, bitterness, hardness, anxiety, cynicism, emptiness, lust, or selfishness? When we are born again, our soul and spirit are made alive in Christ and we are freed from the slavery of sin.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, Abba, Father.
Romans 8:14-15 NKJV
We have the marvelous opportunity to reveal the fruits of God’s Spirit. God’s Spirit allows us to live
“spiritually minded” in life and peace instead of “carnally minded” in the stain of death.
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Romans 8:5-6
Ah, what an opportunity we have for the light of God’s presence to be the light of our life!
When God’s presence writes our narrative, our eyes are an invitation to the redemption story of our soul.
Today, spend quality time with God. Make Him your best Friend. He will be your light and a light to everyone around you.

These are good Kim. I love your heart for the Lord. I am on a good journey with the Lord. I’m pressing in praying for breakthroughs. God is doing great and mighty things in times like these. Maybe a devotional on glory to glory would be a good one. I have a friend who is writing a book on that and soon to be released.
❤️🙏🔥 stay strong and keep that fire burning on the alter.
