What is the proof that God is real to you? After we are born again, we have the opportunity to enter into the most extraordinary relationship; a relationship where God is the greatest love of our life. As His presence becomes our deepest longing, He permeates every part of our life and radiates through us, profoundly affecting those around us.
God becomes so real to us that—we make Him real for others.
Imagine, for a moment, if God took on the form of your closest human friend, walking with you every step of the day. Picture the King of the universe, the ultimate lover of your soul, who had limitless power, wealth and wisdom—being your best friend. How would he radically transform your day? Now, consider if this extraordinary friend also possesses a divine plan for your life, a plan filled with unbounded joy and fulfillment beyond your wildest imagination.
How would his presence influence your life?
The fact is, after we are born again, God DOES desire to walk with us every step of the day. The problem is—WE don’t want to walk with HIM. We’d rather go our own way. But, when we begin to realize God has a better plan for us than we have for ourselves—we fall in step with HIM. We are so prone to wander, that we often have to recalibrate our walk with God even hourly!
But at some point God’s presence becomes so real to us, it’s like a switch is flipped. We realize we can’t; indeed—we don’t—want to live without Him! We long for His Word. We desire the fellowship of believers. We love to talk about all that He is doing through our life. We gladly choose His presence over the seducing power of sin. We begin to desire His presence more than we want anything else because being intimately connected to Him sets our life on an extraordinary course and—we love our life! This becomes our proof.
How many people do you know who LOVE their LIFE???
Within God’s remarkable presence, we willingly commit ourselves to live in a supernatural plan meticulously designed by our Heavenly Father. We learn to lean upon His strength, we adopt His ways, and live in the knowledge that we are deeply cherished by Him. God’s presence is a transformative force, reshaping us and propelling us into eternally significant adventures. Inevitably, we stand apart from the world around us, becoming beacons of light and freedom in a world ensnared by darkness.
This extraordinary life is promised to us in God’s Word:
Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being TRANSFORMED into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 Corinthians 3:17-18
The proof that God is real to us is when our life is gloriously transformed by Him. We are alive with strength and wisdom. We overflow with love, joy, peace, goodness and kindness.
When God’s presence is our most valued treasure, our life is satisfying beyond our greatest imagination.
