What Is More Important Than Knowing Your Future?

Share

man worried

If I were to count the hours I’ve spent fretting over the future, it would amount to a shocking waste of time and energy! God is teaching me how to stop fretting and make BETTER use of my time. How? Well, He is teaching me that…

…I don’t need to know the future when I know the ONE Who knows.

When we are born again through receiving the Gift of Salvation, we are given the capacity to know God on a level that transcends our physical observations regarding His existence. For example, through our senses and human logic we may observe the marvels of Creation and logically conclude that it was made by a master designer. The universe and all the living organisms are obviously superiorly complex to anything made by human intelligence. BUT our efforts to understand God [without knowing Him] will always fall short of what God desires for us to know about Himself.

However, through Jesus, we are…

“made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins.” ‭‭

Ephesians‬ ‭2:1

This means, our spirit man is made alive and able to communicate with God and better understand Him! Amazing, right? The Bible teaches us:

We can only begin to know God—as He is—when we have the mind of Christ.

Read and absorb this remarkable passage of scripture:

“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him. But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.

For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except [by] the Spirit of God. Now we have received, NOT the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak, NOT in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

But the natural man does NOT receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?

But we have the mind of Christ.”

‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭2:9-14, 16‬ ‭

When you are born again, amazingly, you have been given the “mind of Christ.” So are you diligently learning to use this great gift??? Ah, my friend, it is a daily endeavor to train ourselves to think like He does. When we renew our mind by reading His Word, studying with believers, being connected to a church, prayer, etc., day by day we learn to think like HE does!

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”‬

‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:2

When God creates our thoughts, we live in the peace of the present, not the worry of the future.

Basic Bible Concepts: Part 9 Spiritual Growth

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you, when they revile and persecute you and say, all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake, rejoice and be exceeding. Glad for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” ~Matthew 5:10-12
