What Good Is A Solar Tower System Without The Light Of The Sun?

Share

solar and sun

A solar tower system concentrates the power of the sun’s light through a collection of movable mirrors (heliostats) laid out in a field to gather and focus the sun at the tower. As the sun shines on a solar tower’s field of heliostats, each of those computer-controlled mirrors track the sun’s position. The mirrors are set up so that over the course of a day, they efficiently focus that light towards a receiver at the top of the tower. But…the solar tower system is completely useless without the sun. We are more like this system than we know.

Without Jesus, the light of the world, not only are we useless—we would never have existed in the first place.

This thought should radically change our way of thinking, speaking, and living! Our mirrors (physical senses) need to be constantly turning towards Him to collect as much of His light as possible. As His light is gathered in what we listen to, what we see, what we read, and what we think—it shines into our born again soul and ignites us with HIS powerful presence.

Just as a solar tower system is designed to gather the energy of the sun to make useful energy, we were designed to gather the light of Jesus and put it to use for His glory. The solar tower system was designed by a team of engineers; but we were designed by Almighty God. Incredibly, we were created in His image! When we look at each other—even in the most broken life—God gives us the ability to see His image in each person. His light in us allows us to see His great hope for all people.

When we love God with ALL of our heart, soul, and mind, we are constantly turning ALL we have over to Him. Like Moses, we long to see His glory. We deeply desire to be in His light and feel the matchless energy of His presence. His magnificence transforms us. When others see us, they see the light of Christ. He empowers our actions, thoughts, words, attitudes, desires, and goals. Our life becomes a beacon of warmth, wisdom, and power.

Without God, we are like a solar tower without the sun—just a useless pile of metal doing nothing useful or good for anyone—not even for ourselves.

Do you know how to be empowered by God? Well, according to God’s Word, you must first be born again by receiving His gift of salvation. This is how He makes our spirit and soul alive and able to communicate with Him. Then we can be conduits of His light! Secondly, as children of God, we must daily surrender our life to Him in complete and loving obedience.

My friend, you don’t want to miss out on the amazing opportunity God gives us to be empowered by Him!

It is astonishing that God seeks to make Himself strong within us puny humans! The Bible says,

“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.” ‭‭

2 Chronicles‬ ‭16‬:‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

And WHO is this God who searches the earth to imbue us with His strength? He is the LIGHT of the WORLD! Jesus said,

“I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

John‬ ‭8‬:‭12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

When we are constantly turning ourselves towards Him and intentionally living in loving obedience to Him, we become a light for Christ that cannot be hidden! Jesus said,

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬-‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

If you feel the darkness caving in on you, please take stock. Make sure you have been born again. If you are born again but have strayed from God, then remember HE IS SEEKING YOU; He wants to draw you back; He desires to be strong FOR you and THROUGH you. Surrender. Give God the keys, the accelerator, the brakes, the wheel, and the whole truck! I often pray throughout the day,

“God I give You 100% of my possessions, my money, my love, my business, my children—remind me that they are NOT mine—they are all Yours!”

The only thing that stands between you and God’s power flowing through you—is you, my friend. Turn your heart towards Him and allow the power of His Spirit to be absorbed into every surface of your life. He will transform you. You will be empowered to love beyond your own ability; think greater thoughts than you ever imagined; have strength to work miracles that will blow your mind; run and not grow weary; and speak with wisdom far beyond your own understanding. And—you will gladly give God ALL the credit—because you will know that you are nothing without Him.

Jesus is the light of life; when we live in loving obedience to Him—our life is a beacon of hope in the darkness!

Basic Bible Concepts: Part 9 Spiritual Growth

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you, when they revile and persecute you and say, all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake, rejoice and be exceeding. Glad for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” ~Matthew 5:10-12
