The Blessings Of The Bride—Will You Be Part Of It?

Who doesn’t love a wedding celebration??? What a gift it is to be part of a local, New Testament church and to experience the excitement and anticipation of that great wedding day when we will celebrate with Christ!

“And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, BLESSED are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.” ‭‭

Revelation‬ ‭19‬:‭6‬-‭9‬ ‭‬‬

Every person who has been born again and who has committed to a local church that conforms with God’s Word, is part of the body of Christ (the church.) As such, we each have different roles-just like the different parts of our physical body fill different roles.

But you know us humans—we need help getting along with each other!

Imagine your foot arguing with your hand about what the body is going to do today! God understands our struggle in working  together for the good He has planned for us, so He gave us this instruction in His Word.

“For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Let love be without dissimulation [hypocrisy or pretense]. Abhor that which is evil; cling to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another; not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.” ‭‭‬

Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭4‬-‭5‬, ‭9‬-‭16

Imagine the powerful effect if each member of every local church were to live as described above! Just imagine ten people from every church living in the manner Paul describes! Imagine just one! It can be me. It can be you!

Each one of the above instructions goes back to the basic two commands Jesus gave to—love God with all our heart and to love our neighbor as ourselves.

Through the gift of salvation Christ has empowered us to live in His love. He has given us the church as a place to generate His love as a part of a community, so we can collectively be the light to the world.

My friend, no church is going to have perfect people [this includes me and you]. But if you belong to a church that preaches the Gospel and adheres to the teachings of the Bible, YOU are part of the Bride of Christ! Be the difference. Be the “love revolution” in your church and shine as a light to the world.

God’s love for us transforms our love for each other and empowers us as part of the bride of Christ to draw lost souls into a relationship with HIM!
