Today, I was asking God to use His Word give birth to victory in my heart, and He took me to the great Book of Isaiah. As I read of the glorious things He is going to do, the most fascinating thought occurred to me.
God is doing these wondrous works NOW—and I am part of it—so I’ve written the thoughts God gave me after each set of verses.
“O Lord, You are my God. I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, for You have done wonderful things; Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. For You have made a city a ruin, a fortified city a ruin, a palace of foreigners to be a city no more; it will never be rebuilt.”
Isaiah 25:1-2
When I am submitted to God, I SEE the wonders He is doing all around me, and through me. The obstacles I see with my eyes are nothing my Spirit-filled, spirit-man can’t handle. I get to watch God destroy the paper fortresses of the enemy and see Him turn them against themselves.
“Therefore the strong people will glorify You; the city of the terrible nations will fear You. For You have been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat; for the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.”
Isaiah 25:3-4
I don’t need to fear the “strong” or “terrible” people of this world because they are already being brought to their knees by a DIVINE Force—completely unseen to them. When God is set loose in my heart to rule, He strengthens me no matter how poor or weary I am. In the raging storm of every day life, He is shielding me from the things that would crush me. I am empowered to stand against the blasts of the enemy because He is taking the brunt of the enemy’s brutal firepower. Oh, praise to God!!!
“He will swallow up death forever, and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces; the rebuke of His people He will take away from all the earth; for the Lord has spoken. And it will be said in that day: “Behold, this is our God; We have waited for Him, and He will save us. This is the Lord; we have waited for Him; we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.” (Isaiah 25:8-9)
Ah, even the evil foe of death will bow in defeat to the great Hero of my heart! I have no reason to fear the lesser enemies; but, when they DO knock me down—He is there to pick me up and dry my tears with those precious nail-scarred hands which suffered Divine rejection—so I could be Divinely and eternally accepted. This is the LORD of my heart, the King of my soul, my great Desire and—He IS my salvation!
