Dress For REAL Success In The Armor Of God, Part 4: The Shoes Of The Gospel Of Peace

Share

Feet armor shod shoes (1)

Dressing in the whole armor of God also encompasses shoes, the protection for our feet. They serve as the means to help us carry out the GREAT Commission and bring the message of the Prince of Peace to all of humanity:

Therefore take up the WHOLE armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore… having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace… ‭‭

Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭10‬-‭18‬

A spiritual shoe is something to aid our movement. In order to carry out the great commission and “GO”—we must be MOVING—not standing STILL. This piece of armor is to aid our movement. The gospel of peace is the good news. (Luke 2:10) What news could be greater than the news that will save someone from eternal death??? The gospel takes a hopeless person and fills him with GOD’s eternal hope of glory. When we have heard the Gospel and accepted God’s gift of salvation, we have a hope that doesn’t fade. We have a truly meaningful reason to live. We discover that this supernatural hope is worth any sacrifice; even our own physical death.

The hope of salvation enables us to walk for miles across the stony afflictions of this world.

But how far can you walk across stony ground without any shoes? OR how far would you walk if you thought you could LOSE your shoes in the process? (Yes, there are those who teach you can lose your salvation!) My friend, the Gospel message gives us salvation that is 100% secured. God has promised this and He cannot lie. When we are born again, He straps the shoes on our feet and no one and no thing can remove them!

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. ‬ ‬‬

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭35‬-‭39

Paul KNEW that NOTHING could separate him from the love of Christ. He understood the POWER of the Gospel. He knew that no circumstances could thwart the journey God planned for Him. So he kept moving with the message of hope—through beatings, stoning, jail, and many other terrible hardships. His shoes were secure. He knew he was in a spiritual battle; he was fighting for the glory of God to bring the Gospel to the lost souls of the world.

“He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.” ‬‬

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1‬:‭13

The effect of the Gospel on our life is to change the deepest desires of our heart. Salvation plants God’s desires within us. Obedience grows them. The closer we grow to Him, the more our desires become like His and the more confident we become. Like a small child protected by a mighty lion, we walk with purpose and focus. Our narrative becomes so extraordinarily meaningful that we cannot imagine a better life than to bring hope and peace to humanity through reconciliation with God.

We must constantly be prepared to share the Gospel of peace.

When we are confident in our own salvation and the critical message we carry, we advance on to the battlefield unafraid of where we will step and where we will go. We KNOW that we have the ONLY message that will save the victims that are chained by the terrible dragon. No matter what fire the enemy throws at us, we know that God has everything under control. His plan cannot be thwarted. Wherever we go today, we can walk with confidence when we know HOW to share the life-saving Gospel!

Are you confident in your own salvation? If so, do you know how to share the Gospel?

We must be shod with the Gospel and prepared to share it with others; it is the difference between life and death.

Basic Bible Concepts: Part 9 Spiritual Growth

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you, when they revile and persecute you and say, all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake, rejoice and be exceeding. Glad for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” ~Matthew 5:10-12
