Do You Know How To Love the REAL You?

I remember like it was yesterday when I began to KNOW and LIKE who God made me to be. This was not a self-love fest. This was God, pure and simple, peeling away all the facades of who I was trying to be and revealing this person He had made in His image. He showed me that after I was born again into His family—I belonged. Totally. Completely. I did not need to be rich enough, pretty enough, skinny enough, smart enough, successful enough—for anyone else.

I belong to the King of Kings, the fountain of all the goodness in heaven and earth.

The closer I get to God, the Creator of all good; the more of His love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, compassion, wisdom and strength flows out of me. What’s not to love about that kind of person??? The more God reveals the REAL me within HIS presence—the more I like who He made me and the less I try to be like anyone else.

It is a blessed relief!

When we gain a greater understanding of who God is, our eyes are opened and we discover just how special we are to Him. We were chosen by Him! AND when WE choose Him, we also discover our value. It’s an extraordinary experience to realize how special you are to someone as powerful, wise, and loving as God.

It reminds me of the words God spoke through Isaiah:

“But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place. Since you were precious in My sight, you have been honored, and I have loved you; therefore I will give men for you, and people for your life. Everyone who is called by My name, whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭43:1-4, 7‬

When we stop allowing the enemy to tell us who God is and who we are, and instead allow the truth of God’s Word to define us…well, my friend, we enter a journey more wonderful than we could ask for or imagine! We discover all the glorious adventure and amazing love we were created to live in. The more we develop a relationship with God and the attitudes of Jesus, the more we not only LIKE God…we LOVE Him. We like who He made us and we learn to love others like we are loved by Him.

Wouldn’t you love to know that every moment of your life you can be completely secure and satisfied with who you are?

My dear friend, this experience is just one step away. Surrender everything to Him. He is calling you. You are precious in His sight. He has given everything—even His own life—to know you.

Within a relationship with God, you will learn to love the REAL You.
