Can God CONTINUALLY Satisfy Our Desires?

Share

well satisfy desire

Did you know that God will continually satisfy your greatest desires—if you allow Him? But because the world has created such a poor image of God as well as a horribly thwarted definition of HIS love—we must dig into His Word to get clarity about how God miraculously satisfies us.

We will NEVER allow God to satisfy us if we live our whole life deceived by the enemies’ definition of HIM!!!

The veil of lies begins to slip away about the time we are born again. Jesus makes our soul and spirit “new creatures.” His Spirit indwells us! This is the first step towards living in complete satisfaction. As we grow in our relationship with Him, we learn:

  • God is the source of all the good physical things we desire.

He created it all; He created you; He knows EXACTLY what you need!

  • God is the source of the emotional intelligence we need and He promises to give it to us when we continuously surrender to Him.

Love, joy, peace, goodness, kindness, etc., are the fruits of HIS SPIRIT.

No one will ever love you OR teach you to love—like GOD does. No one can give you joy and peace like GOD can.

  • God is the source of all intellectual excellence and power.

His wisdom, power, and ingenuity are far, far greater than that of any human. Even the most brilliant human is incapable of creating even one living cell in your body, much less the innumerable living cells that make up creation.

It is imperative to understand, not just the powerful resource that we have in a relationship with God, but because of WHO He is, HE does not need ANYTHING to be satisfied. This means that the better our relationship is with HIM, the more we are satisfied!

God is ALWAYS satisfied: He NEVER needs anything.

Just like no one can get water out of a dry well, if God were EVER dissatisfied, we would not be able to get satisfaction from HIM. Because we as humans are perpetually dissatisfied, we must also cease trying to get satisfaction from others. Rather, after we are born again, we must grow in our relationship with Him.

When we are born to our parents, we must grow, learn, and live in obedience to them in order to capture all of the benefits of the relationship. Similarly, when we are born again, we must continually be surrendering our heart to Him in order to take advantage of all His benefits.

When we give Him our whole heart, He gives us so much satisfaction that we overflow with His physical, emotional, and intellectual resources.

When God satisfies us, He makes us a conduit of HIS satisfaction. One of my favorite passages in Isaiah describes this beautifully. God explains:

Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; when you see the naked, that you cover him, And not hide yourself from your own flesh?

Then your light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.

Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and He will say, “Here I am.”

If you take away the yoke from your midst, the pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness, if you extend your soul to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul…

…Then your light shall dawn in the darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday.

The Lord will GUIDE you CONTINUALLY, And SATISFY your SOUL in drought, And STRENGTHEN your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do NOT FAIL.‬‬

Isaiah‬ ‭58‬:‭6‬-‭11‬ ‭NKJV

This passage sheds light on why Paul the Apostle urged the Roman christians to offer themselves as a “living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God.” (Romans 12:1) That’s exactly what Jesus did. He is our example. When we live SURRENDERED to God and love Him with ALL of our heart, soul and mind, He pours Himself into us and we are like “a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.

Basic Bible Concepts: Part 9 Spiritual Growth

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you, when they revile and persecute you and say, all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake, rejoice and be exceeding. Glad for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” ~Matthew 5:10-12
