Are You Satisfied Or Still Searching?

We want to believe we can change people’s lives for the better and give them a degree of satisfaction by giving our time and funneling resources into their lives. But the fact is, any satisfaction WE give them—is always a short-term solution. We don’t have enough time and resources to give people what they really need. In fact, we don’t even have enough time and resources to give OURSELVES what we need. Only God completely satisfies the deepest longings of our soul.

The only lasting satisfaction we can give others—is to bring them into reconciliation with God.

However, we can’t convince anyone to be satisfied by God if we aren’t satisfied with Him ourselves! In our series on complete satisfaction, we discussed how to have a deeply gratifying life. It’s only when we are satisfied by God that we value money, possessions, position, goals, relationships, or even family—LESS— than our relationship with Him. Isaiah wrote:

“The way of the just is uprightness; O Most Upright, You weigh the path of the just. Yes, in the way of Your judgments, O Lord, we have waited for You; The DESIRE of our soul is for Your name and for the remembrance of You. With my SOUL I have DESIRED You in the night, Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek You early; for when Your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.”

Isaiah 26:7-9

When God is the center of our life, He becomes our greatest desire and satisfaction. He gives us the greatest purpose. He transforms our life. We learn to desire God above all else. When our greatest satisfaction is in God, like a person in love, our passionate desire for Him is transparent and—so is our COMPLETE SATISFACTION. People want what we have and—it’s Jesus! Through us, people are drawn to God like they are drawn to beauty, peace, love, and joy.

Does your life reflect the complete satisfaction of God’s presence?

If not, you CAN be satisfied by Him. Our journey to complete satisfaction begins the day we are born again and our soul and spirit are reconciled to God, the unending source of all goodness. The only thing you have to lose by passionately pursuing God is the plague of perpetual dissatisfaction!

Aren’t you ready for deep, soul-satisfaction?

First, make sure you KNOW you are born again. Next, determine to seek righteousness and make God the Lord of your life. Start today. If you need a refresher, read our four-part series on complete satisfaction and let God’s Word and His Spirit do the transformational work within you. Pray often. I often pray along these lines in order to PREVENT dissatisfaction:

“Oh, Lord, cause me to have a desire for You. Help me despise the sin that keeps me from the glory of Your presence. May I be still and sit quietly and wait for You. Cause me to yearn for You both night and day. Fill me with the completeness of Your presence. May there be no space of time where I do not sense Your Holy presence. May I earnestly desire to seek You all the days of my life.”

When we are completely satisfied by God, our tough circumstances are merely tools to grow in our dependence upon Him—NOT—to make us LOSE our satisfaction!!!

God is the critical source of everything we need!

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things

The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last your care for me has flourished again; though you surely did care, but you lacked opportunity. Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Philippians 4:8-13

Basic Bible Concepts: Part 9 Spiritual Growth

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you, when they revile and persecute you and say, all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake, rejoice and be exceeding. Glad for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” ~Matthew 5:10-12
