When You Don’t Have Anymore To Give

Share

exhausted female with no more to give

Problems, problems, and drama! We all get tired of dealing with it—right?!? I hate when I go to bed mentally and emotionally drained and then wake up (if I sleep) the next morning, dreading the flood trouble I expect will fill my day. When this happens, I NEED to be reminded of the words of Jesus:

“Come unto me, all you that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Matthew 11:28

Wow—that’s the reminder I need to hear every day!

Although we often want another person to give us comfort and advice; we forget something so important:

Everyone else has problems just like we do!

How can we expect anyone else to completely comfort us and help us when—they all have their own problems? Meanwhile, Jesus offers us a bottomless cup of love and comfort, and—He knows the solution to EVERY problem. Moreover, He gives us a peace that passes all understanding. The key to keeping our tank full is to maintain close contact with God throughout the day. We must keep our heart in line with His Word and live in loving obedience. When we do, we find that His constant presence offers us what no earthly friend can give us—a shoulder that is big enough for all our burdens.

Once we’re continually in touch with God’s love and wisdom, we can then offer strength to others, WITHOUT fear that we will run out of gas, crash and burn.

God has always got more to give; He’s just waiting for you to take it.

Basic Bible Concepts: Part 9 Spiritual Growth

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you, when they revile and persecute you and say, all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake, rejoice and be exceeding. Glad for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” ~Matthew 5:10-12
