As we draw deeper into a relationship with God, He validates us to a degree no other human can. Most of us look to our tribe, our peers, or our friend groups for approval, acceptance, value, esteem, affirmation, recognition, etc. However, if our sense of worth is derived from other humans—aren’t we ALSO giving them the power to make us feel worthless? Aren’t they also seeking a sense of worth from us as well? It seems much like asking a beggar for bread.
Meanwhile, God offers us the richest source of worth—Himself.
When we find our value through our relationship with God, He never makes us feel worthless. His great love is proof of our value to Him. He gave His beloved Son to save us. God doesn’t need to invalidate us—in order to prove HIS worth. He is the “I AM.” He doesn’t need to trample on us to prove His worth to others because He is infinitely self-existing. He said,
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End…who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
(Revelation 1:8)
Everything begins and ends with God; yet He loves each one of us as if we were His ONLY child.
If you don’t know your worth to God and are looking for your value from other people, then ask yourself—how is this working for you? You may want to reconsider your source of value and ask yourself two very important questions:
1. Have you been born again?
2. If you have been born again, are you purposely working to develop a close relationship with God?
To KNOW your value to God, you must KNOW HIM! Believe me, when you get to know Him, you’ll never want to be without Him. He will satisfy the greatest desires of your heart. With God, we know our value so well that no other human can devalue us. We find that even without human companionship—we know we are not alone. God gives us the power of His Spirit and the peace of His presence that is so rich that we know we are rooted in supernatural love. The Apostle Paul wrote:
“I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”
Ephesians 3:14-19
When we allow God’s presence to flourish in our heart we KNOW we are priceless.

Thank you for the kind words, Marjorie!
You have a gift. Scripture I’ve known for years from the Word take on so much depth with your explanations. Thank you.
Praise be to God who has been so patient with me! It blesses me to know you are being blessed as well!
I am born again but how do I get to know the Father in such an intimate manner? How do I form that kind of relationship where I know He is with me?
It’s a process. When you were physically born, you didn’t know everything you knew today. You must fill yourself with God’s Word, talk with Him, get involved in a church, begin to serve as Jesus did. It’s a process…and it is not instantaneous. That’s why I write these devotionals…to help myself and others grow!!! It will come—just don’t give up!!!
