This Is The Moment And Day You Were Born For—Go Live It!

As I was praying this morning and asking God to reset my mind to face the day with His perspective, He gave me this astounding prayer which stripped away all my PRIDE and self-sufficiency:

“Oh Lord, from the beginning, You saw my end and all my in-between and yet, You love me.”

As I began to wrap my mind around the profound weight of this thought, it drew me deeper into the immeasurable magnificence of God’s love for me. From the BEGINNING of my life God knew…

Each betrayal I would commit against Him;

Each time I would reject His love;

Each time I would choose to hurt one of His beloved children;

Each time I would reject his wisdom;

Each time I would waste the gifts He gave me;

Each time I would throw away the time He’s given me;

Each time I would prefer anyone over Him…

But YET…God chose to be faithful to me. In His GREAT LOVE, He pursued me. Even though He SAW all the FUTURE crimes that I, as His child, would commit against His love—He continued to give me life. You see, my friend, God sees the beginning and the end all at once. He knows the total weight and magnitude of sin we will commit against Him over our entire lifetime. But yet, He chooses to love us in the present. If I could see the entirety of my own wrongdoing, I’m not even sure I would love me. Would you?

But God does.

The Psalmist wrote that God’s mercy is from “everlasting to everlasting.” I don’t think I can describe it more aptly than he did:

“The Lord is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. He has NOT dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, So GREAT is His mercy toward those who fear Him; As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. As a father pities his children, So the Lord pities those who fear Him. For He KNOWS our frame; He remembers that we are DUST. But the MERCY of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness to children’s children, to such as keep His covenant, and to those who remember His commandments to do them.” ‭‭

Psalms‬ ‭103:8, 10-14, 17-18‬ ‬‬

When God is Lord of our life, He is our greatest treasure and hope. Then, the only REAL fear we have is to NOT have a strong sense of His presence. This is, in part, what it means to “fear Him.” We marvel and tremble at our need for Him. We long to please God not—because we are afraid of Him; but because—we have an inkling of His greatness and unparalleled goodness towards us.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a FUTURE and a HOPE. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11-12

My dear friend, seek God and He will give you greater hope and purpose than you have ever known!

Basic Bible Concepts: Part 9 Spiritual Growth

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you, when they revile and persecute you and say, all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake, rejoice and be exceeding. Glad for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” ~Matthew 5:10-12
