Self-Care; Soul-Care: One of God’s Freebies—Earthing

earthing (1)

Earthing (or grounding) involves connecting your body to the earth’s natural electrical charge. The earth is part of a natural electrical circuit where the surface is negatively charged relative to the positively charged upper atmosphere. Our body functions most efficiently with a slightly negative charge. When indoors, we not only miss out on that electron flow from the earth, but we are also inundated with positive electromagnetic fields from cell phones, computers, electrical wires, and power lines. Furthermore, we nearly always go outdoors wearing footwear which blocks our connection with the earth.

The constant fire-hosing of our body with positively charged electromagnetic fields, combined with the lack of connection with earth, slowly causes the body to shift into an unhealthy positive electrical state which leads to many negative health ramifications.

Such a lifestyle results in destructive changes in the optimal balanced charge of our body’s electrical state. Earthing helps restore balance and thus ensures our body’s detox system is fully functional. By restoring a slightly negative charge, we restore our body’s ability to naturally detoxify. The healthy electrical state reduces harmful free radicals which cause inflammation. Inflammation is the basis for a great number of the common health issues.

Earthing is like plugging into a slow trickle of electrons from the earth to recharge our battery.

In the simplest terms grounding works by:

  • Dissipating static electricity and other charges on your body
  • Transferring electrons into your body
  • Electrons neutralize the positive free radicals
  • Fewer free radicals reduce inflammation
  • Less inflammation results in better health.

It’s pretty amazing! But why does it surprise us that the earth is one of God’s sources for great physical health? After all, Jesus is the Word and created the earth and all living creatures:

“All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.”

John‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬-‭4‬

The entire earth belongs to God, the giver of life!

“The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭24‬:‭1

The entire earth bespeaks of the life-giving presence of God:

“Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you; and the fish of the sea will explain to you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this, in whose hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind?”

‭‭Job‬ ‭12‬:‭8‬-‭10‬

When we are physically born into this world, we are made to be connected to the earth. It is the physical creation of God. The physical realm teaches us the larger spiritual principle of our need for God. For optimal health, our body needs the EARTH God created; and our soul and spirit need the PERSON of God. When we are born again, we connect our inner man with the Spirit of God. To maintain our best physical health we need to be connected to the earth. The healthiest people—body, soul and spirit—are connected to both.

My friend, I believe this earthing connection can have amazing positive effects on our physical health. I’ve started earthing in the last two months and right away noticed a remarkable reduction in joint pain, a reduction in allergies, a more acute sense of smell, along with several other health improvements. Upon researching what the medical field is saying about earthing, it appears that studies have revealed a few of the following results:

  • Reducing inflammation as the Earth’s electrons neutralize free radicals in your body.
  • Improving sleep and reducing chronic fatigue.
  • Improving cardiovascular function by improve blood pressure and reducing blood viscosity.
  • Reducing pain and inflammation.
  • Balancing cortisol imbalances.

Here are some methods for earthing I use during with my prayer, meditation, and quiet time with God:

  • Standing in your yard barefoot
  • Walking in your yard barefoot
  • Wading in a lake or any body of water barefoot
  • Using a grounding mat

My friend, when we take care of our body, which is our temple for worshiping God, we are able to capture every blessing God has for us.

Take advantage of this free soul-care resource God has given you!

God “created the heavens and stretched them out, [He] spread forth the earth and that which comes from it, [He] gives breath to the people on it,” and His spirit fills us with the marvelous gift of His Divine presence.

Isaiah‬ ‭42‬:‭5‬

Basic Bible Concepts: Part 9 Spiritual Growth

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you, when they revile and persecute you and say, all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake, rejoice and be exceeding. Glad for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” ~Matthew 5:10-12
