One fall morning on the back deck during my quiet time, I watched in awe as over the valley a mighty rushing wind swirled through the autumn-tinted trees, catching up thousands of the multicolored leaves into a wild and wonderful dance. They dipped and swirled all around me as if inviting me to dance with them! I laughed at God’s marvelous game and shivered with delight as He blew away the muggy air and surrounded me in the crisp coolness of fall. I was overcome with the glorious sense of being completely loved by my Heavenly Father and the privilege of being able to seek His presence!
It is mornings like this when I feel the delight of God’s presence so strongly—mornings like this that I strongly desire for everyone who has never experienced the delight of His presence—to be here with me.
God’s presence is better than Christmas with family, our first kiss, our favorite mountain view, a high school football game on a crisp fall evening, or whatever experience you associate with life’s ultimate goodness. The Bible says that God’s “steadfast LOVE is BETTER than LIFE.”
O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.
So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory.
Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You.
Psalms 63:1-3 NKJV
God’s great desire is for every human to be reconciled from the misery of sin and into His glorious presence through His marvelous gift of salvation.
Oh my dear friends, SEEK Him and you will find LOVE that defies your greatest imagination!
After you are born again, there is no better way to start your day than by spending alone time with God. His presence becomes the fire burning brightly within you to light the path for the rest of the day. God’s Word is “a lamp to our feet and a light to our path.” (Psalms 119:105) When we seek God with all our heart, soul and mind, we KNOW He will “show us the path of life,” and we KNOW that in His “presence is fullness of joy!” (Psalms 16:11).
What GOD gives us can’t be obtained from anyone else. The fruits of HIS Spirit, HIS love, joy, and peace—are like nothing the world can EVER offer! (Galatians 5:22-23)
Do you want to experience God’s fullness of love, joy, and peace—an experience so huge that it overflows into the lives of all who know you?
Seek to KNOW GOD. HE already knows everything about YOU and He has written today for you. The Bible says:
“O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thoughts afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.
Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.
How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!”
Psalms 139:1-3, 16-17
Seek to KNOW God; He died so that you could KNOW Him. (John 3:16)
