Are You Satisfied With Where You Are In Life?

Share

woman-on-top-of-mountain satisfied with life

When I was young, it seems like I was always longing for something I didn’t have.  I’d tell myself just be happy if—I found Mr. Right, if I got my degree, if I had children, if I made a lot of money, etc. I made these pursuits my focus. In fact, these pursuits were far more important than my pursuit of God.

Now, many years later—after I’ve been married and divorced; had children, earned that law degree, and made and spent at least a couple million dollars—I’ve discovered the truth.

All of the things and accomplishments I attained—without God at the center—just increased my desire for more.

When we’re young our well-meaning friends, family, and teachers, often tell us that success and happiness are found in the pursuits of education, strength, beauty, money, possessions, love, friends and other worldly desires. Then, when we obtain them, we find we can’t ever get enough!

My dear friend, there is absolutely nothing wrong with pursuing these things as long as GOD is at the center of them all.

Jesus said:

“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Matthew‬ ‭6:25-27, 31-33‬

GOD has a plan to provide for EACH of your desires. Give your heart to Him every day and He will become your unchanging source of great desire. Knowing God will is transformational because you begin to long for what you were designed to need the most—a relationship with the greatest lover of your heart.

God created your desire and created all the things you desire; He has great delights planned for you today!
