Put Personal Injustice To Work

Share

injustice unfair work

Have you ever suffered a deeply personal injustice? Maybe you worked your tail off for your employer, went above and beyond, sacrificed your time and sanity—only to be sidelined, overlooked, or “rewarded” with a dead-end role. Meanwhile, the lazy, under-qualified co-worker who barely lifted a finger got the promotion—because she’s friends with the boss.

And there you are, stuck in the basement, wondering, What was the point?

You replay the moments over and over. You wrestle with the anger and frustration. You question why integrity and hard work didn’t lead to the reward you were promised.

It’s hard to retrain our mind to think about injustice in a way that produces healthy actions.

But God gives us His Word. The Bible is filled with stories of people who endured betrayal, abuse, and injustice—and used the evil circumstance against itself to work good. Joseph was sold by his brothers, falsely accused, and thrown into prison. David was hunted like a criminal by King Saul after faithfully serving him. Jesus, the sinless Son of God, was crucified for crimes He never committed.

Our personal injustice is not wasted—IF we live for a purpose greater than ourselves.

This is the upside-down wisdom of God. He doesn’t promise a pain-free life. He promises a purposeful one. When we suffer in surrender to Him, our story becomes part of His greater story. The pain becomes productive. The injustice becomes an instrument to live out the glorious eternal purpose we have been given.

Wouldn’t you rather suffer with the One who sees the future, than suffer alone for nothing? We ALL suffer! We might as well put it to good use.

Even in the middle of injustice, we can walk with God—who promises peace, strength, significance and eternal rewards. The world will mistreat you. Even good people will disappoint you. But there is one relationship that never fails: our relationship with Jesus Christ.

No one has suffered greater injustice than Jesus. And yet, He used it to bring salvation to the world.

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer,
I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

When we are in Christ, we too, will overcome. Peace in the face of betrayal. Strength when we’re crushed. Victory in the face of defeat.

“Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.” 1 John 4:4

Today’s Challenge:

Think of a recent injustice you’ve experienced—large or small. Instead of replaying the pain, ask God to repurpose it. Write down one way He might use that situation for His glory and for your growth. Then take one step today toward trusting Him with the outcome.

Prayer:

Lord, I confess that injustice makes me bitter, angry, and discouraged. But You never waste my pain. Help me to see the bigger picture of what You’re doing. Teach me to trust You in the middle of unfair treatment, knowing that You are working all things for my good. Give me Your peace. Remind me that Jesus has already overcome—and that in Him, I will too. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
