The first time I saw the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Spain, the edifice instantly drew me to God. It was remarkable. This basilica was designed by Antoni Gaudi, whose fantastic imagination was inspired by his deep devotion to God. The church is covered with detailed sculptures of the Nativity; the Passion of Christ; the fruits of the Spirit; and many other representations from God’s Word.
My awe of this incredible masterpiece re-awakened my realization to the potential of each human imagination!
Maybe you don’t consider yourself imaginative because perhaps you don’t paint, design buildings, write music, or have any of the more traditional artistic talents associated with imagination. However, the use of imagination affects every area of our life. Technology, modern conveniences, and all the widgets and gadgets that make our lives better—all were created because someone used their imagination to create things like the washing machine I hear running in the other room, and this iPad I’m typing on right now!
God is so good and He has given each of us a remarkable imagination to use for His glory!
God sets the standard in Creation. He gave us a pattern. He gives His wisdom and strength to frail humanity!
“O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens!”
“Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength, Because of Your enemies, that You may silence the enemy and the avenger.”
“When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained, what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen—even the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea that pass through the paths of the seas.”

Psalms 8:1-9
When we are born again, and we endeavor to draw close to God, we discover the unique brand of imagination God has created within us. It’s so very easy to see the greatness of HIS imagination by simply looking out the window. But isn’t it beyond remarkable that He planted His imagination within each of us? Do you find yourself living in the wonder of GOD’s imagination? If not, remember that in order to maximize this gift, you must seek Him above all else and learn to absolutely trust His plan. Then—hang on!!!
When we KNOW God and TRUST Him—He takes our imagination outside the box and creates the unimaginable through our life!
When God works through our imagination, we produce inspiration that glorifies the Creator of our gift. We join the rest of Creation in glorifying God:
“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world.”
Psalms 19:1-4
God has blessed you with HIS creativity and He gave His life so you could use it for His glory. You are already supernaturally loved. If you allow Him to guide you, there is no limit to what He can do through you.
You are the part of Creation God dared to love to death.
