Losing over three-fourths my hair in the last 8 weeks, due to my bout with this ugly virus that’s plaguing the world has inspired me to look deeper into my relationship with God to become beautiful. God is inspiring me to live more in the beauty of—grace and truth! Jesus was “full of grace and truth,” and we, as His children, have received what the Bible calls “grace upon grace.” Oh, how beautiful we become when living in the promises of God! The Bible says:
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his GLORY, glory as of the only Son from the Father, FULL of grace and truth. For from his fullness we have ALL received grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”
John 1:14, 16-17
But, God’s Word also begs the question:
How much of MY life reflects GRACE and TRUTH—and thus, is GLORIOUSLY BEAUTIFUL?
Do I focus people on what I look like, my station in life, or my assets??? If so, my life has no meaning beyond this life. Beauty and physical assets will decay and not be remembered much past the death of our body. What an eye opener! Losing my hair has been such an eye opener for me about how critically my heart needs to grow!
This revelation is ushering in a life of true glory—much greater than having glorious hair! 🤩
Let me share with you some of the gems God is revealing about growing in truth and grace:
- Truth (His Word) allows me to see who I am, and grace allows me to see how much I am loved. A person who is greatly loved glows with beauty!
- Truth allows me to see who God is; and His grace is so humbling, that my heart can finally see the extraordinary person He made me to be. It is exciting!
- Living in the truth of God’s Word humbles my heart and allows grace to become a dominant characteristic in my daily life. When we give real love, we are really beautiful!
My dear friend, it does not matter what circumstances have wrecked your body because when your soul and spirit belong to Christ, you have the capacity to love like He does. When we dig into the truth of His Word and allow full surrender to His Spirit, we begin living from “grace to grace.”
God makes us beautiful in His time and—our beauty in Christ—is eternal
