The enemies of God promise us that we will find great pleasure and satisfaction in doing things that violate God’s Word. It began with Eve, and now—it is the pervasive view of our culture. We think the grass is greener on the other side of God’s fence. We have believed the enemies’ lies about who God is—for so long—we think we will find joy living in opposition to His Word.
God’s enemies have given Him such a bad name that even His children don’t believe He is the greatest source of joy!
We LOVE to quote this verse, but do we LIVE like we BELIEVE God will really give us a wonderful future?
“For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord,’ plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:1
God is light and there is no darkness in Him, or in His ways.
“This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:”
1 John 1:5-6
So if I truly believe God has great plans for my future AND I know that God does not give His blessings to me when I walk in darkness—why do I choose darkness? Why do I want to cross the fence? There is only one answer: I have allowed the enemy to deceive me. Any choice in my life that is in violation of God’s law, demonstrates that I have NOT entrusted myself to HIS PLANS to PROSPER my FUTURE. If I WANT the best for my future, I need to align every area of my life with God’s Word. This isn’t just talking about fornication, murder and theft…the “big” sins. Rather, it includes things I often give myself a pass on like—worry, fear, unforgiveness, speech, actions—and this list goes on and on. I must retrain my way of thinking about God.
~God runs the vast universe; therefore, I CAN trust His wisdom and power to run my life!
~God gave His only Son for me; therefore, I CAN trust His love and that He desires what is best for me!
Ah, sweet friend, God DOES have GREAT plans for YOUR future.
Pursue God. Give Him 100% of your heart. Make Him your greatest passion. Entrust to Him every great desire of your heart. He has a magnificent plan for you today!!!
“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?”
