How To Live A Satisfying Life—Part 2: What Gives Us Complete Satisfaction?

Yesterday we discussed what ROBS us of satisfaction. So today, let’s explore what GIVES us satisfaction. In a nutshell: We can’t have God’s Divine satisfaction—without HIS presence! God’s presence allows our life to be predominantly characterized by wisdom, power, and the fruits of the Spirit; that is “love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.” (Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭22‬-‭23‬)  Would others describe you this way? When we are born again and are living with our greatest trust in GOD our life WILL be dominated by this irrefutable evidence of His Spirit!

Take a minute and honestly self-evaluate the characteristics that DOMINATE your daily life. Is your life ruled by peace? Do you overflow with joy and love? Are you kind and gentle? Or, are you anxious, annoyed, fearful, impatient, pushy, selfish, needy, etc.?

Do you know even ONE person whose life is dominated by these marvelous fruits of the Spirit?

It’s safe to say that we ALL want to live in as much love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, gentleness, wisdom, and power as we can possibly possess—right? But to have this delightful life, we need to come to acknowledge:

Only GOD can give us complete satisfaction!

How does the Bible explain what it looks like to capitalize on our salvation and learn to live completely satisfied by God? Well, Paul the Apostle prayed that the church at Ephesus would be “FILLED with all the FULLNESS of GOD.” Let that sink in a minute. What do you think this means? Paul explains:

“To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable RICHES of Christ, and to make ALL SEE what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ; to the intent that now the manifold WISDOM of God might be made KNOWN by the church to the principalities and POWERS in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom WE have BOLDNESS and ACCESS with confidence THROUGH FAITH in HIM.

Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you, which is your glory. For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the RICHES of His glory, to be STRENGTHENED with might through His Spirit in the INNER man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in LOVE, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—to KNOW the LOVE of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be FILLED WITH ALL THE FULLNESS OF GOD. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above ALL that we ASK or THINK, according to the POWER that works in us…” ‭‭

Ephesians‬ ‭3‬:‭8‬-‭21‬ ‭‬‬

Ah, my friend, when we yield our life 100% to Christ, we are rooted and grounded in love and enjoy a life that is filled with HIS Spirit. In Him, we have immeasurable satisfaction which Paul characterizes as “ALL the FULLNESS of GOD.” Can you even wrap your mind around what that looks like? The God who created every single thing you enjoy, wants to thoroughly satisfy you with more than you can imagine. I know it’s true. When I am 100% yielded to God, He gives me “exceedingly abundantly ABOVE ALL that I can ASK or IMAGINE.” For example, His love surpasses the human experience of love and His peace dominates no matter how bad the circumstances.

When we live in 100% surrender to God, we discover HIS complete satisfaction!
