Have you ever considered praying: “God, You do You—in me?”
Monday night in our small group Bible study, we were talking about our common struggle to yield ourselves completely to God in every area of our life. I was sharing how when I yield to God, He does my life better than I do. Then, another member of the group, Jahsette, make this remarkable statement: “My husband and I pray and tell God—’You do You.'”
I was blown away by the simple but profound thought of what mighty things would actually happen if I began regularly praying this—with my whole heart.
Think about the powerful, splendid acts of God happening every day all around you—like, for example, the running of the entire universe and sustaining billions of living creatures. IF His Almightiness (if that’s a word) also took charge of YOUR life—do you think He would for some reason hold back on working powerfully through you?
“Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.”
Matthew 10:29-31
Through holy obedience because of our love for God, we may claim the promises of His magnificent power! Read and meditate on these verse…and then examine your heart to see if there is anything in your life that is coming between you and God. Let it go! Nothing you’re holding onto—is worth forfeiting the power of Almighty God!
“His divine power has given to us ALL things that pertain to LIFE and GODLINESS, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.”
II Peter 1:3
“Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For ALL that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, And You are exalted as head over all. Both RICHES and HONOR come from You, And You reign over ALL. In Your hand is POWER and MIGHT; In Your hand it is to make GREAT and to give STRENGTH to all.”
I Chronicles 29:11-12
