The Book of Isaiah was written between 740 BC and 681 BC, during the ministry of the Prophet Isaiah. But the words were inspired by the same Holy Spirit which lives in us today. The promises made 2,600 years ago are still good today because God does not change, He cannot lie, and He lives outside of time. Let’s enjoy some of these special promises together!
“O Lord, You are my God. I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, for You have done wonderful things; Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. For You have made a city a ruin, a fortified city a ruin, a palace of foreigners to be a city no more; it will never be rebuilt.” Isaiah 25:1-2
When we are submitted to God, we see the wonders He is doing all around us. The obstacles that arise are not ours—they are His because our life belongs to Him. We watch in wonder as God destroys the flimsy paper fortresses of the enemy.
These are promises of our Almighty God!
And another…
“The strong people will glorify You; the city of the terrible nations will fear You. For You have been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat; for the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.” Isaiah 25:3-4
We need not fear the “strong” or “terrible” people of this world because they are already being brought to their knees by a DIVINE Force which is completely unseen to them. When God is set loose to rule in our heart, He strengthens us in all our affliction. In the raging storm of everyday life, He is shielding us from many of the things that would crush us. We are empowered to stand against the blasts of the enemy because He is taking the brunt of the enemy’s firepower.
Oh, praise to God!!!
And another…
“He will swallow up death forever, and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces; the rebuke of His people He will take away from all the earth; for the Lord has spoken. And it will be said in that day: “Behold, this is our God; We have waited for Him, and He will save us. This is the Lord; we have waited for Him; we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.” Isaiah 25:8-9
Ah, even the evil foe of death will bow in defeat to the great Hero of our heart!
We have no reason to fear Satan or any of the lesser enemies. When they DO knock us down—God is there to pick us up and dry our tears.
The precious nail-scarred hands of Jesus suffered Divine rejection so we could be Divinely and eternally accepted.
Make Jesus the LORD of your heart, the King of your soul, and your greatest Desire because—He IS your salvation! God keeps His promises. He is everywhere. He loves us more than we love ourselves.
