Boy, God just totally dropped a bombshell on me this morning. He gave me this thought and I want you to think about this. Our greatest Destiny exists inside the Mind and Imagination of God. Think about that just for a minute. Where do you think your greatest Destiny lies? Who’s creating your destiny? Who’s Conjuring up your great Destiny? Is it you? Is it some sports star that you admire? Is it a video star? Is there anyone that you know that has greater imagination than God? I mean look outside. Are there any leaves on that tree out there that are the same? Is there anyone else that you know that holds the Earth in balance, that causes the tides to roll in the ocean? No, there’s not and so I was, like, okay God, what are you trying to teach me here? What does this look like?
He uses the story of Hadassah, who was a Jewish Exile and under the reign of Ahasuerus King of Persia, and she was poor. She was an orphan. She became Queen of the greatest nation on the earth at the time. And she also risked her life to save the Jewish people from annihilation. Now question, back when she was in poverty. Do you think if God said hey, let me tell you the whole plan Hadassah, so you’re going to become Queen and then you’re going to risk your life. You’re going to have to lay your life down and potentially die for your people. She may not have had the courage to even begin the whole trip towards being Queen Esther.
See, God gives us the information we need to have to live the great adventure he has planned. Let me say that again. God gives us the information that we need to have, to live the great adventure he has planned. And that great adventure is far beyond anything we can ask or imagine .
One of my favorite verses in the whole Bible is in Ephesians 3:20. It’s talking about God being able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or imagine according to the power that works in us for his glory. Jesus Christ’s glory for generations to come see when we’re God’s child. We have the power. His power works in us and we can engage that power through trusting him, through knowing him, through knowing his mind to accomplish far more than we can think or ask. We can’t even imagine the things that he’s got planned for us. Esther could not imagine the things that God had planned for her. She just obeyed. She knew him well enough to know she could trust him without knowing the plan.
See, we need to learn to know the mind of God and to know to have the experience of walking with God, that we know him better than we even know ourself, that we know him and trust him better than we trust our best friend, that we know him and trust him better than we trust our spouse, or our children, or our best confidant. And then, he leads us on the adventure that we never even dreamed was possible because he gives us the power. When she engaged that power, Esther engaged the power inside of her, the power of God. She was able to accomplish more than she imagined because of the power and her obedience. But she didn’t have that by having a casual relationship with God. She had that because she had a strong relationship with God
See, we have to have a passionate, close, deep relationship with God. This is what God’s been challenging me to do. Kim,you need to know me. You need to know me in the morning. You need to go to bed with me at night. You need to spend time with me during the day. You need to be studying my word and know what my promises are for you. And know that you are so loved that you can always trust me. And man that takes time. That takes time but I am so glad that God in all of his Mercy has never given up on me and I want to accomplish more than I can imagine. I really do, that’s my destiny.
And that’s your destiny too. God has given you this amazing thing called life. And it’s you, when he fills you with his Spirit by receiving the gift of Salvation. You are equipped. Now, you have to grow, you have to grow in your knowledge of him. And then you will also have this.You’ll be living the great destiny that you were born to live. So I thought that was so exciting. It was so exciting to me to learn that, and I hope this encourages you to personally seek God passionately and see him. I can’t say that enough and I want you to believe that you can trust him because there’s no one more trustworthy than God. So I hope this encourages you. It’s so encouraging to me and I just pray that each one of you will join me in my journey to find our Destiny together because it’s a great one.
