One of the most rewarding disciplines is learning to give each problem to God as it arises. It’s a simple concept-a problem pops up and we hand it to God-so why is it so hard for us to learn? God runs the entire universe and is responsible for the functioning of each of the trillions of cells in the billions of creatures on this earth. He created matter. He sustains energy. Without Him, nothing would continue to exist. He is the eternal self-existing One. There is none like Him upon all the earth! Yet—do we call upon HIM first for our every problem? Do we habitually ask the ONE who orders the universe to order our day? Not typically.
You’d think we like riding the struggle bus! 🤣
This is one reason that thanking and praising God is so important. The more we speak of His greatness, competence, power, and wisdom, the more we recognize that it is a “no-brainer” to turn to Him FIRST for all decisions—big and small. The Psalmist wrote:
“I called upon the LORD in distress: The LORD answered me, and set me in a large place. The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: What can man do unto me? It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in princes.”
Psalm 118:5-6, 8-9
In addition to thanking and praising God, there is another important tool that assists us in building the habit of entrusting each decision to Him. The Bible says:
“The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation. The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: The right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly. The right hand of the LORD is exalted: The right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly. I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD. The LORD hath chastened me sore: But he hath not given me over unto death. Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD:”
Psalm 118:14-19
When our soul is made righteous through receiving the gift of salvation we are reconciled to God; however, our outer man requires discipline. We must renew our mind in righteousness, and bring our body and the carnality of our mind into line with our inner man which is righteous. Through confession, we draw close to God. In addition to being omnipotent (all-powerful), God is the best friend we will ever have. It is wise for us to confess our sins as soon as we recognize it in order to stay close to Him. When we discipline ourselves to live in God‘s righteousness, we are filled with confidence because we are close to Him.
When we draw closer to God, we quite naturally desire for Him to guide our every step.
If you are struggling today with problems, or have decisions to make in your life, draw close to God through praise, thanks, and confession of anything that stands between you and Him. God sees beyond the wall of time and will guide you into the future. Trust Him—He loves you so much!

Thank you. I’m very sick right now. I just got out of the hospital again. I can barely function. I have cdiff. I also have permanent nerve damage. Cdiff is highly contagious. I’m trying to hold on. I’m only 51. I have been suffering for 27 years. Cdiff is highly contagious and I feel isolated. I know God is with me. This has inspired me. Please Pray 🙏 for me.
