Unwrap The Gift Of Your Most Glorious LIFE!

Share

gift of life

Our life is a GIFT from Almighty God. But I’m afraid that we don’t always see it that way when we roll out of bed on a Monday morning. 😜We live in a tough world dominated by negativity and evil. Our thoughts, words, and actions are often dominated by circumstances which produce things like—aches and pains in our body, financial trouble, family conflict, divisive situations with friends or work colleagues, etc.

And during Christmas, we seem to be even MORE acutely aware of the great insufficiencies of our life!

When I find my thoughts, words, and actions dominated by negative circumstances, I often try to pull myself up by my boot-straps and work harder to convince others that my life IS full, rich and happy. I endeavor to make up for what I’m NOT experiencing. And—it’s easy to get lost in the lies. The facade portrayed on social media, at church, at work, etc., for positive affirmation or “likes,” produces little shots of dopamine and fleeting happiness but those do not last. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. Because then—when we’re all alone with no one to affirm us—we know we are missing something BIG. We have an inborn knowledge that we were created for a supernatural love and a heroic purpose and—we KNOW that we haven’t found it.

According to the Bible, we WERE created for greatness. MANY people never find it, but—don’t let that be YOU!

Do you know that God placed the INNATE knowledge of greatness inside you? Absolutely. 100%. We are EACH created in the IMAGE of ALMIGHTY God:

God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Genesis 1:27 NKJV

And not only were we created in the image of God; but no one has to tell us He exists. We already know it is true. What? YES! The KNOWLEDGE of God—who is greater than anyone we know—has been placed inside each of us by GOD:

[W]hat may be KNOWN of GOD is manifest in them, for GOD has SHOWN it to them.

Romans 1:19 NKJV

It stands to reason that if we know about God and we were created in His GLORIOUS image then we also know that we have a GREAT purpose! We most certainly do! According to the Bible—WHAT is this great purpose for which God created us?

Everyone who is called by My name, whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him.

Isaiah 43:7

Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do ALL to the glory of God.

1 Corinthians 10:31 NKJV

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:16

You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created.

Revelation 4:11

Wow! Amazing! We were created to glorify the Creator of all the beauty, power, love, and wisdom that we’ve ever seen or experienced. God wants this relationship with us so much that even when humanity collectively rejected Him—He paid the ultimate price to reconcile us to Himself. If you have accepted God’s gift of salvation but are still NOT satisfied with your life, and you DESIRE to find HIS answer—ask yourself the question I often ask myself:

Is my life narrative measuring up to the glorious purpose for which I was created?

Do those around me observe my life manifesting the glory of God? Do my thoughts, words and deeds bring GLORY or SHAME—to Christ. You know, most of us are repelled by hypocrisy and—it goes double for our own. We will never be satisfied as a child of GOD if we’re trying to live for the approval of this world’s culture. All of our efforts are like pouring water in the gas tank and expecting our truck to keep running down the road. We end up perpetually dissatisfied because we KNOW that we were created to be satisfied by God. Nothing less will do.

God’s presence is the ultimate fuel for life’s ride.

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:28-31 NKJV

Is there anyone more worthy or capable than God? Is there anyone we are trying to impress who has promised us more than God has—AND backed the promise with his/her own life?!?

My friend, the exceptional satisfaction of living for God’s glory transforms us.

We stop trying to be something we’re not. We become ALL we were created to be. We discover deep satisfaction that cannot be robbed by the actions of another person, a set of bad circumstances, a destructive thought pattern, an unsatisfied need, an unaccomplished goal, or—anyone or anything!

GOD is the ultimate Source of goodness and HE gives us our best life.

But to find this perpetual satisfaction, we must be born again and we must seek to follow Him. All the instructions for a satisfying life are found in His Word:

My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are LIFE to those who find them, And HEALTH to all their flesh. Keep your HEART with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.

Proverbs 4:20-23 NKJV

We must fill the God-shaped hole in our heart—with GOD. We must diligently protect that space and love GOD more than anything or anyone. If we try to satisfy our heart with anything less than God—not only will we be dissatisfied—we will cripple and choke our own heart. God did not intend for us to live this precious life He’s given us without Him. He created us to soar like an eagle!

When God is our greatest desire, our life’s narrative is written in HIS wisdom, power, love, and we experience deep satisfaction and great meaning.

In God’s presence we recognize our supernatural strength, beauty, and wisdom. We cease trying to be someone we’re not. We love who He made us. Others see this and they want what we have and—we can point them to Jesus! We rejoice at our uniqueness and revel in the path He sets before us. Our life echoes the words of the Psalmist:

I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.

Psalms 139:14 NKJV

Basic Bible Concepts: Part 9 Spiritual Growth

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you, when they revile and persecute you and say, all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake, rejoice and be exceeding. Glad for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” ~Matthew 5:10-12
