To Whom Does God Reveal His Secrets?

To whom does God reveal His secrets? The Bible says plainly that God’s Spirit reveals His marvelous secrets to…those who love Him:

“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.

But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 

For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so NO ONE knows the things of God EXCEPT the Spirit of God. 

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might KNOW the THINGS that have been freely given to us by God. 

These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” ‬

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬-‭13

After we are born again, our spirit and soul are made ALIVE in Christ and we are enabled to live in loving obedience to God.

Without being born again and without obedience—we are INCAPABLE of ever learning the secrets of God. 

“But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” ‬‬

‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭2‬:‭14‬

Jesus taught us that loving God is inseparable from obedience to His commandments. (John 14:15). When we wholeheartedly love and obey Him, God’s Spirit searches the depths of His wisdom and imparts divine understanding to us. Just as a person’s thoughts can only be known by their own spirit, the thoughts of God can only be comprehended THROUGH His Spirit. 

Before reading the Bible, I ask God to bless the reading of His Word. Then—the Scriptures come alive, unveiling context and meaning that can only be described as supernatural. This is in great contrast to my past; where reading God’s Word felt difficult, dull, and even burdensome! But now, through the earnest pursuit of a relationship with God, He interprets His Word, infusing my mind and soul with the profound significance and richness He intends for me to discover.

God’s Word leaps off the pages and penetrates my heart.

God’s Word is like a gold mine that never runs out. When I prioritize Him with unwavering devotion, He imparts His hidden truths to my heart, illuminating my path and deepening my relationship with Him. My friend, it is through our love for God as reflected in our obedience to His commands that He unveils His secrets to us. 

When we pursue a rich relationship with God through loving obedience, His Word comes alive in our heart, and His Spirit guides us into a profound understanding of His ways.
