The Sweetness of God’s Timing

Share

Like the taste of a perfectly ripe peach, God’s timing is marvelous in its perfection! Eaten unripe or overripe—a peach never tastes nearly as good. The same is true for our life. We don’t have to be anxious because the things we desire the most have not come to pass. God has a plan and

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.”

Ecclesiastes 3:11

If we push for or rush what is not yet supposed to be, we trample the blessing, or even destroy it before it has blossomed. God has an amazing purpose and plan for our life. I see this lesson all through my life. Is it better to push and shove to get our way now? Or is it better to wait? The truth of God’s Word says that His goodness comes when we SEEK and WAIT for HIM:

“The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.”

Lamentations 3:25

It’s much better to spend our energy seeking God than seeking anything else!

That’s why Jesus said:

“…seek first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Matthew 6:33

While we cannot possibly comprehend the mind of God, as born again believers, we are given the mind of Christ and are able to be guided by His Spirit. His Spirit has already been in the future and enables us to LIVE contently in the present because He gives us the gift of supernatural faith. We trust in the perfection of His timing. His Word says:

“But they that WAIT upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Isaiah 40:31

God’s perfect timing is like a photograph capturing the purest wonder of a child—unforgettably etched into our memory to remind us—we can trust Him.

I’ve seen God’s timing manifested over and over again in relationships, finances, career, and even the most minute details of my daily life. He is marvelous in all His ways!

“The Lord upholds all who fall, and raises up all who are bowed down. The eyes of all look expectantly to You, and You give them their food in due season.

You open Your hand And satisfy the desire of every living thing.

The Lord is righteous in all His ways, gracious in all His works.

“The Lord is NEAR to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. He will FULFILL the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them.”

Psalms 145:14-19

God does so many things perfectly every day—like the breath you just took without a single thought. The sun is shining—even if you can’t see it. I’m lying in bed sick right now and reminding myself of all the things that are going RIGHT in my life right now. Sure, I’d love to be healed—RIGHT NOW—but God is reminding me that illness does not thwart His plan. He is reminding me that there are people I really need to pray for and—now I have the time. To pray is to engage the Almighty power of God and it is more powerful than anything else I DO. Sometimes God has to slow me down so I get serious about it.

Whatever you think you need right now—healing, money, time, friends, love, etc.,—God knows. He knew before you did. Seek Him and entrust ALL your desires to Him and He will SATISFY you far greater than anything you can imagine. My friend, when Jesus is your Savior and Lord, there’s no need to rush or be anxious about your present circumstances. Draw close to Him. Get rid of whatever is separating you from Him—it’s never worth it!

Fall into God’s presence, listen to Him, and trust Him—His timing is perfect and—He’s totally got you.

  2. Yes He does. I realized that last year, my heat pump went out but before that I was planning on asking the bank to help me get some new siding on my house but something kept blocking me. Once the heat pump went out I realized God wanted me to wait. All praise and glory be to our King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Basic Bible Concepts: Part 9 Spiritual Growth

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you, when they revile and persecute you and say, all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake, rejoice and be exceeding. Glad for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” ~Matthew 5:10-12
