The Miracle Of God Multiplying Our Time

When we dedicate every aspect of our life to God, He multiplies our time and abundantly provides for everything we need.

As a self-employed person, it’s easy to get wrapped around the axle about money and time because both directly affect my bottom line. If I don’t work, I don’t eat. My time is money. This pressure tends to keep me focused on maximizing the use of my time during business hours. My singular purpose gravitates towards working hard to meet my physical needs. It’s not that we shouldn’t work hard. But then..

…into my office walks a hurting soul…and the Holy Spirit taps on my heart and says, “Stop. Listen. Share your time and MY heart—and don’t worry, I’ll take care of everything else.”

When I listen to the Spirit and take the TIME to share His work, wisdom, love, and compassion with the hurting person sitting across from me, God’s peace like a river runs through my soul. When I take the TIME to pray with someone who has never had anyone pray for their soul, I get to be part of some of the most special moments in the lives of my clients. Time spent caring is an eternal investment which will reap eternal rewards that I cannot even begin to fathom. One person. One difference. Love multiplied throughout eternity. We are NOT promised tomorrow to spend all that money that we think we need.

So shouldn’t we think about the ETERNAL tomorrow that IS promised to every person who is born again through Jesus Christ?

The Bible says:

Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit.”

Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow.

For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” ‭‭

James‬ ‭4‬:‭13‬-‭1

God has a splendid plan for each minute of today and it’s not difficult for us to figure it out. Jesus told us plainly:

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” ‭‭‬

Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭33

When we take the TIME to listen to the Spirit, we discover HIS plan for each day. We are not promised another day on this earth, but when we are born again and become God’s children, we are promised eternity with Him. Our eternity is guaranteed. The time we choose to invest in God’s work will be multiplied throughout eternity. God will handle the rest.

When I listen to God and do the things HE leads me to do, time after time, He has taken care of my “to do list.” He handles my law practice much better than I do. He is more efficient and effective with my time than I am. He is wiser and stronger. It is amazing to see Him at work! When I give Him the first option on my time, He multiplies it!

  1. Yes it is amazing how He works in our everyday lives. There have been days that my to do list was so long that my first thought is to get to it. But then I take time for devotions. Well, needless to say my day went smooth and everything got done, with time left over to rest!
    Love my Lord and Savior

  2. Good one Kim! “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.”
