Look for it on Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, Pandora, and on our FaithStrong website! So excited to share this music with all of you. Today, we celebrate the release of our 30th song which is a re-make of the old hymn “Sweet Hour of Prayer,” by William Walford. There are so many special milestones that coincide with this release date. This is our 30th recorded song, and also my daughter Grace’s 30th birthday. It’s also my father, John’s recording debut and his mother Sara’s 90th birthday!
Of course, this music would not be possible without the talented Jacob Paul, special musical contributions by Julia Thomas, album photography and design by Tracy V, and the support of my amazing law office family—Lilly, Julee, Taylor and Kimberley! ~Kimberly Faith
VERSE 1
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Father’s throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief,
And oft escaped the tempter’s snare,
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!
The joys I feel, the bliss I share,
Of those whose anxious spirits burn
With strong desires for thy return!
With such I hasten to the place
Where God my Savior shows His face,
And gladly take my station there,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!
REFRAIN & REPEAT
Oh my soul, oh my soul
Spirit calls, calls my soul
Oh my soul, oh my soul
Spirit calls, calls my soul
VERSE 3
Sweet hour of prayer! Sweet hour of prayer!
Thy wings shall my petition bear
To Him whose truth and faithfulness
Engage the waiting soul to bless.
And since He bids me seek His face,
Believe His Word and trust His grace,
I’ll cast on Him my every care,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!
REFRAIN + REPEAT
Oh my soul, oh my soul
Spirit calls, calls my soul
Oh my soul, oh my soul
Spirit calls, calls my soul
Oh my soul, oh my soul
Spirit calls, calls my soul
Spirit calls, calls my soul
