God’s presence always provides constant positive, powerful energy. Some days I wake up extremely tired, weighed down by problems, people, lies, and frustrated by the evil bombardments of life.
I just want to go back to bed and hide!
However, it never ceases to amaze me how—when I begin talking with God and reading His Word—an amazing spirit of encouragement begins to energize me! It is like that first good morning hug from someone who loves you. An all-enveloping, warm, comforting presence that gives you a sense of being totally cherished and absolutely empowered. This is what God does. This is what love does. What a gift His presence is!
God gives us the love, light, strength, and wisdom that makes life worth living.
How does this happen?
We must get to know God. This relationship cannot begin until we are born again and become one of His children. Then, after we come to know Him, we must be faithful to pursue Him. He is looking for those whose heart is completely surrendered! He wants to show His strength through your life!
“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal [pursues Him above all else] to Him.”
II Chronicles 16:9a
When we are more loyal to God than we are to our family, our job, our friends, our material possessions, or anything—He empowers us in every other area of our life! When we learn to trust Him enough to make Him Lord of our life, He gives us His refreshment and enlightenment.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.”
Proverbs 3:5-8
Ironically, we trust God for the big things—like keeping the sun, moon and stars in their place, and the Earth in orbit—why wouldn’t we also trust Him with our life? It certainly takes more power and ingenuity for God to sustain the world than it does for Him to solve our problems. So when health problems, financial crises, relationship struggles, etc., begin to overwhelm us, we need to remember that our Father works miracles of great magnitude every day and—we can entrust our problems to Him! When we REALLY know God, we REALLY trust Him.
God’s presence is our soul’s greatest energy!
