In the last devotional, God was reminding me of the peace of walking in His presence. You see, after we receive the GIFT OF SALVATION, our spirit and soul are made alive and we are enabled to communicate with God. Indeed, when we are born again, we are just like a newborn baby—we “desire the sincere milk of the Word.” (1 Peter 2:2) Also like a newborn, who flourishes with physical and verbal communication, we desire to communicate with God. We desire to feel His presence. Thus, it’s critical for newborn Christians to feed on God’s Word and learn to communicate with Him—right after they are born into His family.
This is one reason Jesus stressed the importance of discipleship in giving us the Great Commission!
“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.”
Matthew 28:18-20
As God continues to bring people into my path—who hunger to find soul-satisfaction, I am realizing the great need for discipleship. To help others grow, God has filled me with passion to share how He has helped me to grow in His presence. So many people say, “it’s hard to believe in God because I can’t see Him.” Well, if you aren’t born again—then that makes sense. The Bible says that the natural man CAN’T understand the things of God.
“The natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
I Corinthians 2:14
While you can intellectualize the Bible to some degree before you are saved; you will not be able to connect with it personally until you are born again. Furthermore, you will not comprehend God’s logic and purpose. But this all changes—when you are born again!
When your spirit and soul are made alive and your spiritual eyes are opened—the Word of God comes ALIVE for you!
The Word of God becomes “a lamp to your feet and a light to your path.” (Psalm 119:105) You long for God’s Word and God’s presence!
“As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?”
Psalms 42:1-2
My dear friend, if you have not surrendered your life to Christ, please consider what is holding you back. Have you found your soul’s greatest satisfaction yet? Believe me…
When you surrender to Christ, He fills that huge God-shaped hole in your heart and you find that great satisfaction you’ve been seeking!
