“My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness and Your salvation all the day, for I do not know their limits.

Psalms 71:15

Have you considered living to discover the outer limits of the blessings of God? Don’t you WANT to know? One of the great benefits of living in the BE-attitudes is experiencing the blessings of God on an increasingly greater scale. The stories of these unfettered blessings are extraordinary. How can they not be? I mean, if the pure in heartSEE God, then of course, HE reveals mind-blowing opportunities to direct our everyday life to make it extraordinary! We think, speak, and act at the direction of our omnipotent and omniscient Creator of the universe and so, of course, He creates marvelous opportunities for us!!!

These blessings are worth sharing because they glorify God.

God’s “outer limits” takes on many forms. For example, in my life, there is the music which I know there is no way I could have done on my own. How many full-time artists (who don’t read music and have marginal musical talent) have written and recorded 34 songs in less than 10 years? Right—you see my point—it’s ALL God. He has taken my desire to glorify Him, incorporated other talented folks, and in my spare time away from my full-time job—worked His magic! But finding the outer limits is for EVERY born again believer because we have been given the Great Commission of Jesus! What does that look like? Allow me to share a recent testimony:

I was meeting with a lady I’ve been teaching for about three years. She has become one of my best friends. She shared how she had fallen into a lengthy funk and could not make herself read God‘s Word or even talk to God. She was grieving the loss of a loved one and the enemy really had her stuck inside her head. She desperately needed help getting out. I’ll be honest, it terrified me to not know how to help her! But, because God has been teaching me through the BE-attitudes, I was reminded to be “poor in spirit” meaning—totally dependent upon Him—and so I confessed to God, “I am frightened that I may not be able to help her; I got nothing, this MUST be ALL You.”

The Spirit miraculously focused the eyes of my soul to know exactly what she needed. While my mind was unsure, my soul was confident. God revealed to me that her soul needed to be strengthened and revived with the spiritual food and drink of His Word. So, I instructed her to begin reading out loud to me out of Matthew chapter 5. Almost as soon as she began reading, tears began streaming down her face as the power of God’s Word began breaking through the barriers of darkness and washing away the stronghold of the enemy. The Holy Spirit knew she needed Bible therapy. She read four separate passages over the course of about an hour and we talked about them. The Spirit led me to pray over her.

I watched a miracle at my dining room table that evening.

Bible therapy was exactly what she needed to get back on track. I would have never thought of simply having her read God’s Word out loud. Without the Spirit, I would have been giving her a speech about “you belong to Jesus so you can feel good about yourself,” or “this too shall pass.” My friend, God’s ways are so high above our ways and His Word is INHERENTLY powerful! I saw it first hand as she read the precious Word from Matthew, John, and Psalms to me—the Word shined the light on the thoughts and intents of her heart and dispelled the lies of the enemies. Her soul drank deeply in His refreshing truth and renewed her hope.

The next week when we met—she was on fire for God! I am still amazed and humbled that I got to see the immediate transformational power of God’s Word. It’s a miracle I’d never before witnessed—watching a soul revive right before my eyes. My friend, I would never have experienced this blessing if God had not been building a BE-atitude in my of how to be more “poor in spirit,” so I instantly recognized my need for HIM to reveal HIS solution. Wow, wow, wow!

Our testimonies of God’s presence are always incredible beyond words—and so worth sharing! In the words of the Psalmist:

My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness and Your salvation all the day, for I do not know their limits. I will go in the strength of the Lord God; I will make mention of Your righteousness, of Yours only

O God, You have taught me from my youth; and to this day I declare Your wondrous works. Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, do not forsake me, until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to everyone who is to come.

Also Your righteousness, O God, is very high, You who have done great things; O God, who is like You? You, who have shown me great and severe troubles, shall revive me again, and bring me up again from the depths of the earth.

You shall increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side. Also with the lute I will praise You— and Your faithfulness, O my God! To You I will sing with the harp, O Holy One of Israel. My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing to You, and my soul, which You have redeemed. My tongue also shall talk of Your righteousness all the day long; for they are confounded, for they are brought to shame who seek my hurt.”

Basic Bible Concepts: Part 9 Spiritual Growth

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you, when they revile and persecute you and say, all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake, rejoice and be exceeding. Glad for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” ~Matthew 5:10-12
