“I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth—Praise to our God; many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord. Blessed is that man who makes the Lord his trust, and does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works which You have done; and Your thoughts toward us cannot be recounted to You in order; if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.” Psalms 40:1-5
Is your life dominated by the pressure to perform for others? Do you feel the constant pressure of not failing your—boss, clients, spouse, children, friends, or even yourself? Yeah, it seems like our default is to live under the thumb of fading and fleeting expectations.
But God didn’t create us to live this way. God has great thoughts for our life that are beyond our ability to number.
Don’t you want to know the kind of plans God has for you as related by this Psalm? My friend, God is not hiding the ball on you and I. But since His plans come from HIM—we must be close to HIM in order to know them. To get close to God requires first that we are born again so that our soul and spirit are made alive and able to communicate with Him. Then, we must grow from a baby into a mature adult in our relationship with Him so that we have the ability to listen to Him and understand His directions.
When we seek God with all our heart, soul, and mind, we discover HIS plans for our life.
That’s why God prompted us to create this website and all the resources for discipleship. We want folks to grow in their relationship with God so they can also discover God’s greatest purpose for their own life. There is nothing which compares to living in the palms of Almighty God’s hands!
I’ve lived in the pressure cooker of my law practice. I’ve felt the crushing anxiety of being controlled by the demands of clients, the fear of adversaries, and, indeed, even former staff who used my need for their help as a tool to make me conform to their demands. I NEVER want to go back to living under the thumb of anyone again! Each day, when I place God in control of my life, I ride out the day with His courage, strength, wisdom and love.
Ah, my friend, I want everyone to experience life in God’s hands!
This happens through discipleship! In fact, this desire to disciple has inspired us to produce two new workbooks! The first is how to develop the attitudes of Christ. The other is taking the Basic Bible Concepts and teaching folks how to develop the foundations for having the mind of Christ. It’s so exciting and I can’t wait for them to be available!
The ministry of GoFaithStrong proof of Psalms 40. In God’s hand, He is doing the work of HIS hands through us. There is no other way all that is on this website would or could be happening. He has the SAME plan for you! If you want to live in the peace and strength of God; seek Him with all your heart, soul and mind. Discipline yourself to study His Word and pray. Be ready to change whatever He asks you to change. As you begin to delight in God’s will, He will instruct you.
“I delight to do Your will, my God; Your instruction lives within me.” Psalms 40:8
God has a carefully thought-out plan for your life. Don’t settle for the pressure created by those who simply want to control you for their own selfish desires. You can fully trust God—He created you and He has greater plans for you than you can imagine!
