Sin severs my power line to God.
My sin encompasses a wide multitude of thoughts and actions that separate me from the powerful presence of God. My sin typically begins with my pride. I want what I want, and; I do what I want. But my pride unplugs me from my greatest source of power. It neutralizes me into a mindless and listless existence that has little purpose or significance.
Thus, I must consciously pursue humility.
God dwells with the one who is humble of heart. The Bible says:
For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.” (Isaiah 57:15)
When my heart is humble, I happily look to God throughout the day for each move I make. I appreciate Him. My soul knows that He knows what is best for me. I daily acknowledge that He has planned the BEST for me. I submit to Him in great anticipation of the daily journey because I know it will be powerfully wonderful. When I dwell in humility, the experience creates a desire to abandon pride.
We were created to live a high and lofty purpose!!!
Once we are born again, we are equipped with all the tools we need to do marvelous works. However, pride will unplug us from God—our greatest source of power. Humility can be elusive—when we think we have it—we don’t. We must become utterly dependent upon God in every area of our life.
Humility is a life-habit that vaults us into the greatest power-position with God.
